9.5.2 Item ID / Name Workbook

I know this can be don with SQL Commands, but I wanted an easy way for GM's To lookup item ID's.

This workbook is a dump from Revo's item.rdb. Compared Name_ID with the string.rdb and matched.

It has 2 sheets, one with Name and ID only, the othe with all columns in the rdb.

I plan to do a work books that has sheets for all rdb files, or at least the most relevant ones. I will update the link as needed.

Im no pro at Excel but that my friend is a really good idea. Look out Google here I come.

Figured it out, took a little while to process it. Excel would crash if I attempted to run the formula on more than 5k rows comparing to the entire library of icons from the dump.

Some items dont have icons but the majority do.

I think they just meant including a picture of your work in your post.

Why a spreadsheet? You can easily export every item with its name in CSV format in SQL Server Management Studio and then just use whatever programming language you want to read data from it and make a web interface or a desktop program.

I wanted something that was quick for my GM's to access for use right away. I don't have time to build a web interface at the moment, though that is a great idea! Thank you for the info. As I have the forum hosted on the same machine I might just create a GM webpage that hooks into the DB with read only rights, that way if I make a new item or item changes it would update on the fly.

Doh! You know that make a little more sense, :-). Oh well, now I now a little more about Excel and matching file names with cell values lol.
