Since i have your Attention now, lets dig into it.
Rappelz moved from a hard grinder to a quite casual game.
Is it a 'bad' thing that happend to the game?
No, i dont think so... because it had to change since the genre changed.
I played on most of the private Servers that were or are still alive.
Since i am a soloplayer (No Guild) i noticed something very early.
That is a emptiness and loneliness on any server i played on.
Dont get me wrong, the serverpopulation fluctuated between 20 to 220.
However, the main Problem i saw was that there was no realy 'Endgame' to their Project.
Sure, get yourself decent equipment and the only thing to do was to go on pvp.
However, PVP from what we know changed from the real thing to just ambushing
people / parties. That doesnt require any kind of skill or special Talent.
Yeah sure i am not very fond of PVP however i could deal with them so i am
not mad or something, just saying. So there was one server i was on,
where you actually had to group up to a full party to actually get imperfect
or perfect gear. The dungeon was custom, the Mobs and Bosses in there too.
However they were not what i was used to see, they actually skills what made
it very hard for a party to take em down. Bosses werent just massive, lots of HP paired with high basedamage.
They actually had skills that would either buff them over a short period of
time, i.e. Giants Growth / Provoke / Limitless, or they would use some from the playerbase.
It got naughty when he patched in Heals .. but it was fun thoe, tbh.
So actually you had people work together to get their gear/pets/skillcards etc..
PVP was really balanced because you actually had to use, what you would call pvp stats,
to actually clear the Dungeon. Since the Bosses required you
to have certain stats to survive. You needed around 2-3 Sets to clear the
dungeon efficient, since all 6 Bosses couldnt be slain with ease without a certain
type of stat boosted. Stupid thing? Hell no it kept people from acting like a prick.
If you hadnt a certain minimum on a stat the Boss would One-Shot you.
To put it simple for you guys .. it had alot of depth and was balanced for pve and pvp.
You couldnt just raid people and play the 'who got more gmfb' game.
1. All have to accept that a Project like this is about profit for the dev. (It is the way it is)
2. A responsible Dev will Balance his Game and Provide a suitable Solution for Endgame Content (PVE/PVP).
3. Everyone knows that Communites DDoS each other to get more PPL on their own Project.
4. 99% dedicated Server use very 'similar' files *wink wink* .. there are lot of errors.
So what does the community want?
1. Endgame with alot of Group PVE with Bosses who posses a Skillset.
2. Soloing should be still possible but not as rewarding (Endgamedrops) as in a Group.
3. Server Rates in a manner that won't discourage Players to lvl.
4. No Cashshop but display the servercost, people will donate if you put dedication into the Project.
5. PVP .. it will be always a part so no need for a specific change, just some rules.
PS:
TBH, 99% of the Servers just smash some files together and change some values so people donate to actually get to decent gear. Since Microtransactions are thing now people will do that, mostly the Young Guns.
This post, as seen by me, is kind of useless because all P-Servers out there evolve around 'Moneygrabbing'. However, i just leave this here. Maybe there are some people who actually have some functioning braincells to graps the meaning of the text above, or not.
