the tag is not concret... and he probably want to create a pet from the existing creatures from game. you can edit the db an create a card with the pet to be tamable, summonable, to add skills and so on.... but that pet wont have the movement animations on mount (if will add mount skill). without that is ok.. you can add anny desire creature as a pet to an existing card.
To create new content from scratch, and that involving the model it need to get the nx3,naf,cob files decrypted to create an skelet , a start point for the advancing.
and that is not all it will need an import/export tool for 3dsmax/maya/zbrush/mudbox (3ds max recomandable), so it can be imported to see al the object details and in same time after the work done to export it for the game usage.
