Ok, so it seems to me that this method is only useful if you want to change the color of something already modded by something that is not modded. Say you want to apply the basic Gaia armor skin to your staged Unicorn. Because you have to know the encrypted name of your target asset. And you will have that normally only if you have added/modded Resources.
To modify something already in your Resource folder, you don't need the dragon unpacker because you obviously already have the base asset and the encrypted name. You need it only if you want to use stuff that is not already in your resource folder as a source. And using the dragon unpacker is useless if the target you want to modify is not already in your resource folder.
Unless I'm missing something. If that's so, let me know.
I wouldn't have titled this thread All about the Resource and Client though.
(Modded resource == stuff not genuinely in the client, but added after)
