Cleaning memory of PW

Since Descent patch people get a lot of game crashes. It is sad, thats due to memory overflow.

Im sure thats something hardware/op system related as i never have that, but having ur mates go MIA during TW and NW is bad enough.


I remember there was a bot with a clean memory button. That actually did reduce the ram usage of the game, i was using it. I dont know how it worked, and dont remember which bot it was, but maybe making a tool that could do this frequently would help these people.

Any idea bout this, or for other solutions?

It was mine, and it still does this when you press start/stop buttons.

Indeed, memory usage dropped from 181k to 121k as i pressed the bot.

Most likely that could be a solution to their problems, just some tool doing this fromtime to time. Maybe a tool that does that and advertises ur bot+shop wouldnt be a bad PR move :P

I dont have this problem, but people i know.

Regardless of how it is done, people still crash, so its not a solution.

Seems like its either a DX error, or video memory problem. I told them to use DX 9.1 instead of newer ones, had no backup yet.
