Workarounds for rooted Android?

Hey,
are there any known workarounds to play Pokemon go with a rooted smartphone? A custom apk or something? I dont have Xposed insalled cuz it's kinda risky to install with my s5. The Hide my root aps dont seem to work for me. I would remove my root tho, but i kinda like ma fake gps app.

Use Fly GPS no need Root for fake GPS with Joystick

Try unrooting the phone and installing Magisk? Personally, I've never try it, but worth a shot thou.
