[What is a Soft Ban?]
A "Soft Ban" is exactly what it says, you got banned in a "soft" way. This means, you will most likely be unable
to interact with PokeStops, catch Pokemon or battle gymns for a certain amount of time.
Yep, you heared right. It might happen that you get soft banned when using any GPS Spoofing and also while
traveling with your Car or by Train. But don't worry - For now, these Soft bans will stay 2min up to 72h.
[Why do I might get Soft banned?]
As explained above, a Soft Ban happens if your travel too fast. Using GPS Spoofing allows you to travel a
certain distance in a less amount of time ( Germany => US in 2 Clicks ( 10 seconds? )). This also happens
if you go by Car or Train. It basically depends on how far your GPS Locations differs from the last known location.
This certain disctance is not known yet, but it's around 2-3km from what we heard...
If you log into PoGo and it has your Coordinates from your home but you change them directly to let's say
5km far away from your Place, then your Character will "jump" to this place. This usually is not a legit move
as you can't travel 5km in 1 sec...
So in this case, you might get a soft ban for around 1-2 Minutes. Same happens if you "jump" to locations 1000 km
far away. The only difference is, this Ban will stay longer than 1-2 Minutes.
But people not doing GPS spoofing can also get soft banned. Some representative of Niantic wrote a post
on r/thesilphroad, stating that people can get softbanned from playing it in their cars on the highway etc.
The soft ban isn't only about distance traveled but also how fast you travel it. The game is meant for discovering
your environment and catch pokemons on feet, so when you travel faster that running/biking then you might risk it.
[How long does it last?]
As mentioned above, it depends on speed and travel distance. Some seem extremely short but that's usually
the servers messing up. But the bans last from 1 minute to 72 hours.
[How can I avoid a Soft Ban?]
You can't really bypass it. The ban happens server side and not on your current PoGo process, IP, Location or Phone/Emu.
"But people said they jumped from Germany to Australia and didn't got softbanned..." - This might be true but 99% of the time
you'll get softbanned! The reason why some people do not get a ban is because they didn't logged into PoGo 1-2h before they
"jumped". As I said, the ban depends on speed and travel distance. So if your last location was @ Home and you "jumped" 300kms +
you didn't logged into PoGo 1-2h before, this might result in a "jump" without getting a soft ban.
[It's a soft ban - why should I be worried?]
Short answer: During BETA, people who did GPS spoofing got permabanned instantly.
Long answer: Nobody knows if Niantic is going to collect spoofed Accounts to bann them in Waves nor do we know if
they are going to permaban anyone. The Game was released yesterday and there will be more updates for the game.
Niantic could and probably will go down on people spoofing more when they get more updates out and more
content gets released like trading - In this case, you should also worry about your Main Account ( if you use multiple accounts )!

Aber es könnte auch passieren, dass Ihr, obwohl Ihr keinen GPS Spoofer benutzt, einen Soft Ban bekommt.
Das liegt daran, dass eure letzte bekannte Location von eurer momentan Location eine zu große abweichung hat.
Wie groß diese Abweichung sein kann ist uns leider nicht ganz bekannt, aber durch hörensagen fängt ein Soft Ban schon
bei 2-3km an.
Als beispiel:
Wenn Ihr euch zu Hause in PoGO einloggt, eure Koordinaten dann aber 5km weiter weg setzt, dann wird
euer Charakter in PoGo einen kleinen sprung machen. Normalerweiße ist es aber im Leben nicht möglich eine
5km Distanz in weniger als 1ner Sekunde zu bestreiten, das erkennt das System und Ihr bekommt einen Soft Ban für
ca. 1-2 Minuten. Das gleiche passiert auch wenn Ihr zu einer Location 1000 km weiter springt.
Der einzige unterschied hierbei ist die dauer des Bans.
Aber auch Spieler, die Ihre GPS Location nicht spoofen, können von einem Soft Ban betroffen werden.
Eine Vertreter von Niantic hat ein Kommentar auf /r/thesilphroad gepostet, dass Spieler, die mit dem
Auto oder dem Fahrrad unterwegs sind, ebenfalls einen Soft Ban bekommen könnten.
Ein Soft Ban passiert nicht nur durch die Distanz, die Ihr gereist seid, sondern auch in welcher Zeit.

Das kann durch aus wahr sein, aber 99% ist dies nicht der fall und du wirst einen Bann riskieren.
Der Grund wieso manche Leute, oder besser gesagt, warum es manchmal zu keinem Soft Ban kommt, liegt einfach daran,
dass die Spieler sich vor Ihrem "jump" z.B 1-2h nicht in PoGo eingeloggt haben. Wie gesagt, die dauer hängt
von der Distanz + Geschwindigkeit ab. Wenn Ihr euch z.B von zu Hause eingeloggt habt, 2h nicht Spielt und eure Koordinaten
300km weiter weg setzt und dann einloggt, dann könnte es sein, dass Ihr nicht gebannt werdet. 300km in 1-2h ist
ohne weiteres machbar, trotzdem ist immer noch ein kleines Risiko vorhanden.

Kurze Antwort: Während der Beta wurden Spieler, die Ihre Location durch GPS Spoofing geändert haben, sofort für immer gebannt.
Lange Antwort: Niemand weiß ob Niantic nur die Accounts sammelt und diese in Ban Waves banned oder überhaupt Spieler für immer bannen
werden. Das Spiel wurde gestern ( 15.07.2016 ) erst releast & es wird noch viele updates für das Game geben.
Niantic wird wahrscheinlich erst richtig gegen Spieler mit GPS Spoofing vorgehen, wenn PoGo mehr updates & content
( wie z.B das Traiding ) bekommt - Sollte dies der Fall sein, dann solltet Ihr euch ebenfalls Sorgen um euren Haupt Account
machen ( Sofern Ihr mehrere Accounts nutzt )!
