The devs are working on anti-hack countermeasures and logging.
Assuming that not all of that statement is BS, I've used my almighty crystal ball of common sense.
Their countermeasures are probably going to look for 0 COF(or other unnaturally low COF's) or impossible coordinate changes.
It would be a good idea to replace the 0 cof by a ''freeze COF at crouched position for every weapon''. It would tone down the AMP sniping a bit, but also make it harder to detect, either visually or through an automated script.
As for impossible movement, I'd advise you all not to teleport across an entire continent when the ''anti-hacker', patch goes live.

Lol, mutually assured destruction.
Could actually work, but isn't it funnier to just find a way around the countermeasures than to try to illegally dissuade SOE of makign these changes by threatening them of crashing their game?

Suggestion to counter the CoF = 0.
redb00mer, instead of noping (or is it spelt nopping?) the address when you're crouched - just nop the increase address for CoF. That way it'll always be a "standing CoF value". Should be alot less detectable that way.
Alot more fair IMO, and for weapons like the TR chaingun - it's actually alot more practical in close quarters since it'll have a little spread (spray n pray).

SoE neglects the PS forums, so I seriously, seriously doubt it.

When I'm using the MCG I crouch, turn COF hack off and on, and I have exactly what you described. It's only if you pull out a new gun while the hack is on that it sets it to 0.

Ah, the hotkeys hehe. I didn't bother including those in mine - so it's a 0 or 1 business for me.
I suppose if you were used to the game enough, you could lead with the MCG and own that way (pretty much what I do with the gauss/cycler now).

Its impossible for your shots to land with MCG close-medium range when CoF is set to 0. Pressing ALT I and ALT O sets it at the normal CoF. And it is much easier to hit.

Unless they make Planetside entirely server side there's nothing they can do outside of a few checks here and then.

I dont think that there is a possibility that the PS responsible SOE guys are NOT checking in here once in a while.

What are these DirectX cheats that ppl talk about?
Do you know that the supressor has 0 CoF when crouching and not fireing? That means that everyone who has the supressor and walking around crouched will get caught if it works the way you describe MagicProphet.

07/10/2008 - Conquer Online 2 - 13 Replies
Hi guys, well as we all know chinese co get releases wayyy sooner than us servers and some people already do this, if anyone can read chinese and can translate for us :) we could try and observe the chinese servers to look at future patches and potential profits, im sure most of us missed out when +8s were cheap from lotto before 2 socking etc :( and them boom prices increased, if we could predict or have an idea of what was to come we could stock up on items etc to prepare and even gain from...
