Wouldn't the main reason you get dced when ******** around with C/E be that you input some invalid values causing the ****** to crash?
What you are describing sounds like a Gameguard/Xtrap detour. This can be done via injection on processcreate, it isnt needed for PW though, since their hack protection is the lamest I have yet seen.
