Xp versus Vista

Im Vergleich:

Xp > Vista ;o

Man kann 90% der Optischen Features von Vista sich bei Xp aneignen, aber mit werniger Ram Auslastung. Und mich stört, dass die Nasa ihre Finger mit drin hatte ;F

Yes:

I think Windows XP is better than Windows Vista, cause you can mod Windows XP so, that it looks like Windows Vista, but dont need as much ram as Vista ^^.

Habs zwar selbst nicht, da mein PC dann komplett abkacken würde, aber von anderen hab ich gehört, dass vista inakzeptabel wenig games unterstützt.

Außerdem never change a running system

Vista is full of spyware made by those musik/video companys, they don't want you to use Hardware wich will help you to rip their cds'n'dvds, also Vista is just another step in the world domination Plan of a jerk called Bill and Vista will only work with so called Vista aproved Hardware.
So if you got brain, don't buy VISTA!!!!!111

Micro$oft products blow chunks, its time software developers support real operating systems like linux.
But since we have no choice its XP or 98 depending on the application.
Vista is still a pile of crapola and will be for a while.

Yes your equipment will run it well, however its down to software, can you find a linux versions for all the software you run all the time?
Thats the problem we need more developers to produce linux versions of their software and they won't until enough people run linux, so its catch-22.
Nows its upto the people to tell the developers what we want, down with Micro$haft, all hail the mighty penguin.

1. there is no viruses for linux

2.it's more stabile
3. it's good for making servers

that's why i want linux

..... and i need counter strike,conquer.......to work

That's actually not true. There are viruses for linux, just not as many. But there are plenty of compromising tools used by hackers to gain access just like windows. I run XP x64 and Vista and I like them both. Vista may be slow, but it's fun to use. But when it comes to viruses and spyware, it all depends on how download-smart you are. Are you the kind of person to download anything you see and run it? If so, you will get a virus a week and have 20 spyware programs running at all times. I manage everything I download and only run things I know to be clean. Last time I had spyware/viruses? Over 5 years ago. I don't even run firewalls, spyware detection, or anti virus. Waste of time, resources, and money when you can do it yourself.

As far as stability, that's arguable. Windows next to never crashes for me. I've had linux crash on me before so I can't say one is more stable than the other. Vista's crashed less than my XP machine though.

CS works on linux too. Use WINE or Feisty. I know someone who plays CS on Ubuntu.

In the end, they're all decent. It just depends on what you do with your computer time. Everything I do will generally only run on windows so I have to run windows on both of my comps. I'd love to prop up fedora core on my other comp though. ^^ but it needs windows so I stuck Vista on it to play with it. Runs pretty nicely but yea, you need a good setup for it.
