Gehst wieder in about:config, dann gibst du im Suchfeld browser.startup.homepage ein und änderst den Wert auf

Man kann auch einfach mal in den Browsereinstellungen nachschauen, was als Standartsuchmaschine/Startseite/usw. eingestellt ist

Dabei ging es noch um das vorige Problem und nicht um seine Startseite, denn die Startseite ändert nicht deine Defaultsearchengine.

Das vorige Problem würde sich z.B. auch wie folgt lösen.

In der Firefoxconfig nach browser.search.defaultenginename suchen und den Wert auf "Google" setzen.

Das Problem ist ja schon gelöst. BTW dein Vorschlag ändert nur die Suche in der Leiste oben rechts.
