I expected moderators and admins to be able to judge a case objectively. I don't mind the infraction warning because of its effect, it's the sheer fact that I received one. Did I get that guardian badge for nothing? Frankly, it isn't special nowadays, but doesn't it at least show good intentions?
I agree with you. Although I'm an active member, contributor + guardian, I still get report for myself for things which class as things which barely scrape the word "reportable." Some people try too hard to impress, thus reporting everything they can, whether it be breaking the rules or not.

Application threads are not the right place to discuss anything like that, especially as the member you were talking to wasn't even the one that opened the thread. Next time you should write a PM to that user or leave a message on his profile, by replying to him and starting a discussion you are causing even more work for the Global Mod that has to clean it up.

I was not starting a discussion. It was a friendly reminder to obey the rules, that's it. I've done that before. Others have done it before. Nobody ever had a problem with that. But for some reason, it suddenly became a problem yesterday. How am I supposed to know that? And please don't tell me I was the only one who complained about the infraction. Even a post of Smith was deleted, so I'd say it's pretty safe to say that this kind of reaction wasn't predictable.

Well, i think you'd go better if you discussed this warning in the complaint area.
It's easy, everything you post in public sections concerning warnings that are unfair in your opinion is seen as whining from other users.
