when i type the ip + port , it opens nostaleX.dat .... in notepad++ xD

edit 1 : .dat files are set to 'open with notepad++ by default , i think thats the isue , but how do i fix this? i tried reg edit , but pc just went derp >.<

edit 2 : after uninstalling notepad++ (Q.Q) , it asks me 'how would you like to open this .dat file
so it wasnt fault of notepad :< , am i doing something wrong?~

You need to reset the it to default.

worked , it reset the .dat ^^ how ever , it still doesnt open nostale , but prompts me with ;how would you like to open this program; instead :/

extra info : windows 10 , Tried the NosTaleLauncher.zip , gave me missing dll error , tried the 64x , it gives me the 'how would you like to open nostaleX.dat file' , tried the 32x , gives missing dll error aswell :<

Given how horrible this is coded, I wouldn't suggest using the source from it even if it was released.


If you want to create your own injector:
- Build the full path to NosTaleX.dat
- Launch the file with the command line argument: EntwellNostaleClient


If you want to create your own injector that connects to a given server:
- Build the full path to NosTaleX.dat
- Create a new ini file within the same folder named config.ini
- Create the given data inside of the ini file:

[NosTale_Network]
IP=<server ip here>
Port=<server port here>

Launch the game with the command line argument: EntwellNostaleClientLoadFromIni


All info for this can be found inside the game file if you disassemble / debug it.

It is really sad to see how terrible this site / section is, more or less because of the so-called "coders" that title themselves as such. Everything in this section from most of the derp's are all just copy pasted from older tools and reskinned and claimed 'I DID THIS HURRDURR'.


Of the games I've done anything to, this is by far the worst community I've seen for one of them. Everyone is more interested in money or acting like they were the first to do something than work together on anything to actually get **** done. (Kinda the reason every single private server for this game is total garbage. And any future development is total **** because you all act like idiots.)


If you want to get into a 'war' over who did what first, I made a launcher and hacks for this game when it first came out long before any of the people on this forum even heard of the game probably. Do I brag about it? No cause it doesn't matter. My stuff was released publicly and free.


Seriously, you guys need to get off your high-horses and actually act like a community rather than a bunch of retarded 12 year olds pretending to be 'coders'.


You want the source code to something I wrote back in 2006 for this game when it first came out?

Just asking but wtf are you talking about ? And tell me which source code did i used for the launcher and when you want to talk normaly we can do it outside of this thread like in the chit chat

#edit: wow, da habe ich es endlich mal geschafft ohne Probleme diese kacke einzugeben kommt eine Fehlermeldung.

Der Datei ist kein Programm zum Ausführen dieser Aktion zugeordnet. Installieren sie ein entsprechendes Programm, oder erstellen Sie in der Systemsteuerung unter "Standardprogramme" eine Zuordnung, wenn bereits ein Programm insstalliert ist.
