We have a discord for questions and if you don't know how to use OpenNos by yourself you cannot move up and manage your server well. And SystemX64 make your own project if you are not happy we don't care about you, we only make the project for us not for you

Guys arent you scared about copyright?
You do not have any license for running NosTale server or publishing the files.
I would be scared in this case...

this project has nothing to do with the right of running a server because we just publish files and this is our code so there is no copyright trouble. It will be illegal if we was running a pserver or if we give the official files or client files. Here it's only our own code that can be used totaly without anything about nostale (just need to do your own client).
So Opennos is totaly legal.
Private Server aren't.

But you are running , there is the OpenNos server so it is a private server = illegal as you said?
Because i would like to run my own NosTale server, nothing commercial but opened to public. A little bit scared about license problems, so how to actually create a public server on OpenNos as legal server?

Thats not the same project and yes the server is illegal and for a legal server the only way is to pay an license to entwell that is really expensive ^^ (like gameforge do) there is no other way

Well, actually it is legal, since it's basically not using third party code we're not allowed to use. The only thing is Client Data. But the License to that is a whole other story.

You are right, using the NosOpen data and running a server on them should be legal. The problem is a client as you have said, all client content is under copyright.
Getting a client data is impossible i think, because its specially created and unique for the publisher that is publishing the game, they will not give you rights or maybe sell it for millions.
The best way should be run the whole server and do not provide the whole client, just launcher that will modify some data in client or something like this. So you basically tell the user to insert that launcher to NosTale game folder i think.
You do not provide the client in this case and no one can know from which client is the user connecting so this should be okay.
I think you should be safe if you are running a non-profit server, everything is usually ok until you start charging money for something that is not yours. If you have a non-commercial server they will tell you just to shut it down in the worst case, if you start taking some money or start profiting by in-game purchases, then it could be really worse.

Don't know why OpenNos still releases their sources when I see that most of the people that uses their sources are leechers like you.

You know that this is an open source project so if you are not enough patient just do it yourself. Btw we clearly don't have to do anything for you we are not your fucking slaves. I seriously don't care about you and if I were you I will clearly think about giving all my money to the brain implant research.

Open-Source Project
01/31/2013 - CO2 Private Server - 28 Replies
Hey everyone,
So, you might remember that I said I was going to make a new open source after Christmas, and I wasn't joking around about that. I'm going to make an open source for multiple games offered by NetDragon Websoft. You all chose Conquer Online (1.0) and Era of Faith. I might add Warlords to it but we'll see.
Now, a few things have changed. First, the project doesn't have to be in C++ anymore. I got the job and I'm working on C# programs there (the company is changing to C#)....

Open-Source Development: A C++ Project
12/02/2012 - CO2 Private Server - 18 Replies
Hey everyone,
I haven't made a public project, ever. I'm still working on Kibou (Burning Skies) and that will be returning this winter; however, I feel very bound to that project (and the C# language). I enjoy it, but I'd also like to work on something new. Something for the month that I'm off to do while I'm bored of re-documenting Kibou. That's why I want to make a new project that's not in C#. I want to make a VC++ project. I chose VC++ because I'm more familiar with it (and because I...

Open Source C++ Project
01/07/2011 - SRO Coding Corner - 23 Replies
Hello,
Currently I am working, on an Emulator written in C++. My goal is to make a strong group of programmer, who are interested to make a "free 2 use" emulator.
You don´t have to be "professional" or "24/7" programmer, everyone is welcome.
If you see things on the Code or you know how to do it faster / better you can apply a Patch via SVN. If you do this you will be automatically a "Team Member".
Here are some Tips to Submit / Edit an existing Code.

Open Source Project: SREmu
01/25/2009 - Silkroad Online - 18 Replies
I am just making this topic to bring your attention to recent development at SREmu.
SREmu has gone from a VB6 project to an open-source C++ project hosted on SourceForge.
At the moment I am the only one working on it, but I would like to see it a community driven project. To clarify: I'm not looking for a team, I'm looking for knowledgable people that code in C++, preferably with some experience with x86 assembler, packet logging / parsing, subversion, visual studio, etc.
About the...
