Please, can you stop writing about things you don't know? Nostale is not a big game but it uses strings as packets. Its the difference between Nt and other games. Strings are ******* slow to parse, C# needs much time to do it. We tested dat ***** before talk, you should do the same.
who you tested it with? because you're using multiple accounts i cant find any traces to persons you were working with btw. parsing string stream is slow and using huge strings can make parsing slow :/. btw its not their fault that Ent*ell made packets as strings, if someone is creating something and making it for free you shouldn't give a **** about how slow it will be, because its for free "Never look a gift-horse in the mouth" its cool maxim :P use it sometimes.
@edit: stop craping this thread with your stupid offtop cause its not needed, if you want to say something you need to give links to sites that will confirm your beliefs
Hello, Just to know, what do you guys use for client version of NosTale for NosOpen ?
The latest avaible on the official servers ?
Thanks !
that does not change anything, new or old everything works fine(dont use too old client, like 4 years old because you would miss some cool stuff), cool thing is that if you add sp to db and spawn it like this $CreateItem SPID 15 12 it will make a sp card with new wings(W.I.P)

Chunk, Trollface etc tested it too.. Not just me.. And anyone of them said which C# is too slow to manage Nostale properly. Just go at the start of thread to see the comments. Slow string parsing = Slow mobs motion. I wanna see this server running all maps mobs with pathfinding algorithm and 100 users online playing normally. It would lag as the ****, no way to make it good performanced.
I said the project is ok cuz its open source, but.. The problem is which C# has no power enough.

Do you think the C++ is the best for make a NT Emulator ??

now, did you read the post starting the thread? there was clearly stated that this will be an emulator - Emulator (its not gonna bite you), soo why would you want to test it with 100 characters using propably hamachi, maybe dedicated server, but think from other PoV its actually getting relased and works as fast as WAAT(without items) i checked it out and have every map and portal loaded now adding some items and i dont see any slowdowns etc. maybe its my machine

Of course, it runs faster cuz there is nothing in it
100 chars aren't rly needed (and a server should contain at least 300-400ppl?
why the **** are you doing it otherwise ), it would lag also with 2-3ppl logged on
Actually i don't think that someone would write it in assembly since there won't be enough people to see the perf difference...
And some people dont understand How to compile c# so execute assembly Will be impossible for them... But its true that in assembly it Will be faster...
Open-Source Project 01/31/2013 - CO2 Private Server - 28 Replies Hey everyone,
So, you might remember that I said I was going to make a new open source after Christmas, and I wasn't joking around about that. I'm going to make an open source for multiple games offered by NetDragon Websoft. You all chose Conquer Online (1.0) and Era of Faith. I might add Warlords to it but we'll see.
Now, a few things have changed. First, the project doesn't have to be in C++ anymore. I got the job and I'm working on C# programs there (the company is changing to C#)....
Open-Source Development: A C++ Project 12/02/2012 - CO2 Private Server - 18 Replies Hey everyone,
I haven't made a public project, ever. I'm still working on Kibou (Burning Skies) and that will be returning this winter; however, I feel very bound to that project (and the C# language). I enjoy it, but I'd also like to work on something new. Something for the month that I'm off to do while I'm bored of re-documenting Kibou. That's why I want to make a new project that's not in C#. I want to make a VC++ project. I chose VC++ because I'm more familiar with it (and because I...
Open Source C++ Project 01/07/2011 - SRO Coding Corner - 23 Replies Hello,
Currently I am working, on an Emulator written in C++. My goal is to make a strong group of programmer, who are interested to make a "free 2 use" emulator.
You donīt have to be "professional" or "24/7" programmer, everyone is welcome.
If you see things on the Code or you know how to do it faster / better you can apply a Patch via SVN. If you do this you will be automatically a "Team Member".
Here are some Tips to Submit / Edit an existing Code.
Open Source Project: SREmu 01/25/2009 - Silkroad Online - 18 Replies I am just making this topic to bring your attention to recent development at SREmu.
SREmu has gone from a VB6 project to an open-source C++ project hosted on SourceForge.
At the moment I am the only one working on it, but I would like to see it a community driven project. To clarify: I'm not looking for a team, I'm looking for knowledgable people that code in C++, preferably with some experience with x86 assembler, packet logging / parsing, subversion, visual studio, etc.
