But what I can't understand is, that some players can play, but didn't tell how it was done to come this far...

I got a black screen and the security window pops up like a virus. You can't click it away.

A simple workaround (for now) is this:

1. Start the Server, Start NFS: World
2. Close NFS: World using the Task Manager
3. Uncheck the "Show this blabla" option on the dialog
4. Click "Run" or "Start" on the dialog
5. Close rest of the windows
6. Now you should be able to play.

For those poor souls that have no powerups in 1.8 but in 1.7 have them, it's windows SmartScreen that is messing with the server

- Right Click on offlineserver.exe, go to properties, select unlock, and apply changes

- go to www\server\, right click on rand.exe, go to properties, select unlock, and apply changes.

restart server, and no more windows smartscreen problems, without disabling it , and powerups will be back.

because people have launched it on the icon of the original nfsw in the dekstop when EA has shut down the server

Ok, the thing is that I can't click at the dialog box, because it pops up so fast that you don't have time to put off the check from the checkbox.
So I must close all these windows with TM, but I can't close NFSW before I closed the **** popup-security-windows...

Is there a way to just deactivate these security-bullshit created by Windows 7 ? Do you guys also use Windows 7 as your OP-system?

I don't wanna be angry, but this really sucks. Berkey did an awesome amazing job about months to recreate the game and now it won't work, just because of this tiny little error (maybe caused by Windows itself).

Oh come on: Now I don't have the **** windows anymore, but I still have the blackscreen, the game doesn't load.
What can I do to make it right?

So close... to play... Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh!


Edit: No Response in the Task Manager and I only get 2 CMD-Windows instead of 3, but the server works.

It FINALLY WORKS. I just put the server again into my folder, because I had changed some things before.

But now I can able to play. So Awesome! Sorry to ask so many questions, but I think it needs 1000 ways to come to the aim.


@fabx24: The Card Packs don't work, cause you don't need them atm. You can purchase everything for free. (At least in the 1.7 version)

I don't think problem is with SmartScreen Filter, on Win 10 i have it disabled with all "security features", naturally, i do not have option to unlock files, since theya re not locked . However, I do not have powerups in 1.8beta, tried only to run as an administator, will try something next day.

Note, i removed phyton and all files (including mitmproxy), and re-installed in order to test dependency, server works fine, but no powerups , 1.7 does not work with this setup of phyton, soe verything should be fine on that side.

hello, i recently downloaded version 1.8 and when i hit start it says.... you're not runnning the 1613 build, cant guarantee stability, then it closes... what do I do?
