That has nothing to do with the server...

If you have the latest version, fresh installed in a separate folder and you have an UNMODIFIED persona you will be fine.

I used my persona from previous version and when i try to modify the cars that are bought or modified on older server version game freezes and everything crashes. Maybe not on the first car, but DEFINITELY on the third.


Just trust me, use a fresh persona or unmodified and everything works perfectly.


You can find original personas somewhere in this thread and I think that some guy even has them in his signature. It's the blue signature that say something like "Click here to get everything for NFS offline", something like that... It will take you to his google drive and last option on the has many personas, try them out.

Yeah, I used my persona straight from EA, and I still get the out of memory bug when I try to buy a car. Yes, I'm using 1.6 Beta.

Rename "carslots.xml" to "carslots". Reload (IMPORT) your driver once again.

If it doesn't work try to import a new persona. You can get plenty in the download link on the first page of this thread.

Hi everyone. Firstly, I want to say thanks to OP for being awesome and all the effort put into this. Seriously, thanks! The game wasn't perfect, but the nostalgia kept me going.

Onto the bad news: I can't seem to get the "Out of Memory" error to leave me be. I am using version 1.6, and also installed everything as required. I made sure Java was up to date. It's at Update 51, whereas this requires at least 45. I made sure to create the persona, save it, and waited about 10-30 seconds before launching the game.

As soon as the game fullscreens to load, it gives me the Critical "Out of Memory" error, loads for a while, then closes. Anyone else here had that but were able to fix it?

OS: Windows 8.1 x64
Persona: Edited the default "911PEEPS" persona that shows up in the Server Editor.
Version: 1.6 Beta from July 18th.
Game: Goes straight to fullscreen "Loading", but error comes up immediately, crashes.

//EDIT 2: Tried restarting. Now it won't even say "Loading". Just the error and crash.

Eventually we'll end up on 8u51 or later, so I'll just wait for the next beta release. Currently doing yet another image restore to undo everything (I'm on a second system posting at this forum while waiting for the image restore to complete).

I kinda figured out how to fix "corrupted" carslots files

Just open carslots.xml with Notepad, fix <DefaultOwnedCarIndex> (if necessary) and save it in ANSI codification.

EDIT: you might also want to fix the <Id> values under <OwnedCarTrans>

I'm still getting random error 5 when launching, and when it works I either crash with error 13 at launch or when clicking on "select driver". I actually only managed going in the game once, but I froze when trying to see all the customization.

We'll get here eventually. :/

Is there any known fixes for the out of memory error that occurs when purchasing a car in 1.6? Changing my persona didn't work.
