[Rules] Metin2
Hello!
In addition to the , which have to be observed across all sections, following regulations apply for the Metin2. Possible rule violations can be reported by using

button. Whenever a regulation is violated, immediate punishment - depending on the severity of violation - in form of either warning or infraction can be inflicted. More details regarding this can be found in . - Selling/Buying bugs/guides is not allowed. Releasing them is fine though.
- You are not allowed to publish copyrighted material from YMIR. Autoresponder, text files with links or the like are forbidden.
- Threads requesting files, hacks and/or bots are not allowed. Use the search function.
- Always observe the collective threads in every single Metin2 section to avoid creating threads you could always create as a normal post in the collective threads.
- Don't comment in threads with quotes like "Good luck" or "Good Pserver", these are considered as spam.
Important links:
Metin2 Guides & Templates rules
- Please do not release guides for every little thing. It's much more helpful to write guides about topics in demand.
- As this is a [no questions / keine Fragen] section, threads that don't follow this rule will be deleted/moved.
Metin2 Hacks, Bots, Cheats, Exploits & Macros rules
- As this is a [no questions / keine Fragen] section, threads that don't follow this rule will be deleted/moved.
- Threads without a virus scan will be closed but opened on request once a virus scan is available.
- Trial offers are no longer accepted in this section. Please use the
for such offers.
(This rule only affects topics which are created after the 10.12.2020.)
Metin2 Private Server
- Only questions/threads directly related to private servers are allowed in this section.

Metin2 PServer Guides & Strategies rules
- As this is a [no questions / keine Fragen] section, threads that don't follow this rule will be deleted/moved.
- Double posts in the form of updates are allowed.
- DDoS/Flooder threads will be deleted immediately and punished accordingly.
- Releases have to be accessible in the thread.
Metin2 PServer Advertising rules
- Netiquette: Treat other members with respect. Damaging someone's reputation is strictly forbidden if the respective post lacks clear evidence. Keep private things private. Meaningless, destructive posts are considered spam.
- Threads need to be approved by the moderation before getting visible to the community. This can take up to 72 hours. Bypassing this filter (e.g. by posting in other forums) will result in an immediate infraction. The respective thread will then be removed and has to be recreated.
- Your server MUST be ready after 14 days from the date you submit your thread officially or in open beta phase.
- There may not be multiple (active) threads for one and the same server.
- Servers may be advertised only by using the German or English language.
- Effortlessly designed advertisement threads will be closed. A certain amount of information is required.
- Existing websites should be linked accordingly. Their visitors should also be able to get back to elitepvpers (backlink).
- Posting twice in a row is tolerated only if the post contains relevant information for players.
- Betas have to be accessible to the public. However, the number of participants may be limited.
- Servers may no longer be advertised by third parties. Friends or other external persons are considered third parties.
- Servers may no longer be advertised by team members who do not have full decision-making power like moderators, game masters, game admins, board admins, developers or community managers. Responsible are those who are pulling the strings.
- Those responsible (mostly server admins or sponsors) need to list a few of their epvp account information, i.e. their usernames and join dates. Also, the listing has to show the names (or pseudonyms) they are using on the server. All these information are collected in the original post.
- Team members who got promoted to the server admin rank (or higher) need to be listed accordingly. They are considered responsible persons.
- The responsible persons need to be listed even if they have left the team.
Just use a table that provides an overview of the entire team if you want to be on the safe side.

If there is no such listing, your thread will not get approved! Remember to keep it up to date (see also point #15)!
- Each server should aim for a minimum runtime of 6 months.
- If no uptime of 6 months has been reached, we will automatically prohibit the publication of further servers for 6 months. The release date counts as start date of the penalty.
- After a runtime of 6 months, each server operator is allowed to publish another server, as long as the existing server is still maintained. This regulation extends to each additional server. With a third server, for example, the two previously created servers must continue to be operated. Server networks are therefore generally allowed.
- New servers coming out and being part of an existing network are also affected by these rules.
- Raffles may only be promoted if the prizes are only elite*gold or items available on the server (including coins).
- If you decide to use elite*gold as a prize, the thread creator must already own the total amount during the raffle.
- All information regarding the raffle should be available in the thread presentation during the event.
- If the prize is not awarded or is even faked, the thread will be closed.

Due to current events and the outcome of the last Community Voting, we have decided to change the rules as follows:
Quote:
- 13. Any advertisement bans will affect all those responsible.
- 15. Your thread will be closed once we think something fishy is going on. Instructions can be found in the post of the respective moderator.
+ Each server should aim for a minimum runtime of 6 months.
+ If no uptime of 6 months has been reached, we will automatically prohibit the publication of further servers for 6 months. The release date counts as start date of the penalty.
+ After a runtime of 6 months, each server operator is allowed to publish another server, as long as the existing server is still maintained. This regulation extends to each additional server. With a third server, for example, the two previously created servers must continue to be operated. Server networks are therefore generally allowed.
|
Therefore, we retreat to a minimum as a controlling body and restrict ourselves to facts that are directly evident to us. The focus is now on the server runtime. The "reputation" of server operators, which was " worked out" by any previous servers, is no longer considered by us, since this plays a subordinate role for the majority of the community.

There was a rule update regarding lottery events which are organized by various PServers:
Quote:
+ Raffles may only be promoted if the prizes are elite*gold or items available on the server (including coins).
+ If you decide to use elite*gold as a prize, the thread creator must already own the total amount during the raffle.
+ All information regarding the raffle should be available in the thread presentation during the event.
+ If the prize is not awarded or is even faked, the thread will be closed.

We have adapted our Metin2 PServer Advertising rules to the current situation on the PServer market. The change is that the minimum term has been reduced from 6 months to 3 months, resulting in a shortened timeframe for meeting uptime requirements and the imposition of publication bans.
The rules concerned are therefore as follows:
Quote:

16. After a runtime of 3 months, each server operator is allowed to publish another server, as long as the existing server is still maintained. This regulation extends to each additional server. With a third server, for example, the two previously created servers must continue to be operated. Server networks are therefore generally allowed.
|
The reason for the rule change is the establishment of so-called speed or event servers, which run seasonally and are then merged with a regular server. These are currently popular and helpful in keeping the player population on servers stable. We have decided to make this rule change in order to better reflect the PServer market on elitepvpers

We have made a small change to the rules for the Pserver Advertising section as well as to the general Metin2 rules:
Quote:
|
+ Refrain from commenting in threads with quotes like “Good luck” or “Good Pserver”, these will be considered spam.
|
Quote:
|
Threads must first be approved by moderation before they become visible to the community. This can take up to 72 hours. Bypassing this filter (for example by posting in other forums) will result in an immediate infraction. The respective topic will then be removed and must be recreated.

Ja
We have once again adjusted our rules regarding how long a server must be online. The change means that every server must be online for at least 6 months instead of 3 months as before. This rule change takes effect today, but also retroactively.
Quote:

|
Quote:

- If no uptime of 3 months has been reached, we will automatically prohibit the publication of further servers for 3 months. The release date counts as start date of the penalty.

With a third server, for example, the two previously created servers must continue to be operated. Server networks are therefore generally allowed.

The reason for the change is to improve the quality of published advertising threads. This includes making so-called “cash grab servers” less lucrative and filtering them out more.
