I’m excited to share a script I’ve been working on that automates stone detection and interaction in Metin2 using YOLO (You Only Look Once). This post will explain how the script works, what YOLOv5 is, and how everything comes together to make the magic happen. Let’s dive in!
What Does the Script Do?
This script is designed to automate the process of detecting and interacting with stones in Metin2. Here’s a breakdown of its functionality:
Screen Capture:
- The script captures a specific region of your screen where the Metin2 game window is located.
- Stone Detection: Using a pre-trained YOLOv5 model, the script detects stones in the captured screen region. YOLO is a state-of-the-art object detection algorithm that can identify objects in real-time.
Interaction:
- If a stone is detected, the script moves the mouse to the center of the detected stone, clicks on it, waits for X seconds (you choose how many) and then presses Z before finally searching for a new stone.
- If no stone is found, the script right clicks the screen and moves the camera to look for more metin stones.
- Looping:The script runs in an infinite loop, continuously checking for stones and interacting with them.
What is YOLO?
YOLO (You Only Look Once) is a popular object detection algorithm that can identify and locate objects in images or video frames in real-time. Here’s how it works:
- Single Pass Detection: Unlike traditional object detection methods that use multiple passes to detect objects, YOLO processes the entire image in a single pass. This makes it incredibly fast and efficient.
- Bounding Boxes and Classes: YOLO divides the image into a grid and predicts bounding boxes (rectangles around objects) and class probabilities (what the object is) for each grid cell. In this script, the class is a "stone" in Metin2.
- Pre-trained Models: YOLO models are pre-trained on large datasets (e.g., COCO) but can be fine-tuned for specific tasks. In this script, we use a custom-trained YOLOv5 model (best.pt) specifically trained to detect stones in Metin2.
