[GUIDE]Full MySQL Installation on FreeBSD!

Start Your Putty Session , Login then follow my steps ... ;

1-

portsnap fetch extract 


2-

PHP Code:

cd /usr/ports/databases/mysql50-server/ 


3-[php]make install WITH_XCHARSET=all clean[PHP]

4-

PHP Code:

/usr/local/bin/mysql_install_db 


5-

PHP Code:

chown -R mysql /var/db/mysql/ 


6-

PHP Code:

chgrp -R mysql /var/db/mysql/ 


7-

PHP Code:

/usr/local/bin/mysqld_safe –user=mysql & 


8-

PHP Code:

/usr/local/bin/mysqladmin -u root password desiredpasswordhere 


9-

PHP Code:

ee /etc/rc.conf 


Now add this into the lines
10-

PHP Code:

mysql_enable="YES" 


now reboot , then start it again in 2 mins or so.
And once you login back do this..
11-

PHP Code:

mysql -p 


12-

PHP Code:

GRANT ALL PRIVILEGES ON *.* TO 'root'@'%' 


13-[php]IDENTIFIED BY 'yur password goes here' WITH GRANT OPTION;

14-[PHP]GRANT ALL PRIVILEGES ON *.* TO 'mt2'@'localhost'[PHP]

15-

PHP Code:

IDENTIFIED BY 'mt2!@#' WITH GRANT OPTION; 


Now after these steps write quit , then you can start your server normally.
