Hey everyone,
since the previous thread on user ranks was a bit outdated, lacked detail and - in some aspects - contained information that was not entirely correct, I decided to give this an overhaul and basically rewrite it from scratch. Just like the
, the purpose of this thread is to give you an idea of what the various user ranks (and their icons) stand for and what privileges and obligations might walk along with them. For username colors, check the captions used for the respective ranks in this thread. I didn't explicitly mention it, but of course users can have multiple ranks at the same time (unless the ranks are conflicting; e.g. a moderator will never be an admin at the same time).Should you stumble across factual error or typos, please let me know. The same applies if you feel I missed some information regarding a rank or if a rank description should be more detailed.

Founder
This rank comes with a red username and access to Premium Shoutbox, but does not include any moderating or even administrative rights. It is a unique rank that has been created solely to honor
, the founder and former owner of elitepvpers. It was his idea and also in large part his work that has turned elitepvpers into the platform as we know it today. To learn more about his resignation, see .Support
The main purpose of those holding this rank is to assist you with your cases in
forums. The rights that come with this rank are individual and can be subject to change at any time. They basically involve whatever is required to get the job done, this might include rights such as resetting elite*gold PINs or removing TBM ratings.Even though this rank comes with a green username similar to moderators and also includes moderating rights in
forums, you should not mistake it for a moderating rank. In fact, it is not even a conventional staff rank which is also one of the reasons why I am not listing this as a staff rank; apart from the fact that you cannot apply for this rank. In case you are wondering how to classify this rank in regard to the other, actual staff ranks: you can think of this rank as slightly below the rank of a moderator.Bot

Staff Ranks
Okay, time for a little metaphor in order to illustrate the structure of the staff: You can think of the staff as the crew of a huge ship; the admins are the captains of this ship and will decide what course should be taken while the other staff members will do their part in making sure that the destination is actually reached.
So the staff is managing the board in order to make sure that things are going as intended and - if possible - trying to resolve any problems that might come up along the way. Feel free to contact a staff member if you encounter any problems; you can either do that by sending him/her a private message or use
to address the entire staff.In case you are very active in your favorite section and would like to become its moderator, you should see
for more information about the requirements and application procedure.If you should ever find yourself talking to a staff member that behaves oddly in some way, make sure that he/she is actually a member of the staff and not just an imposter. You can do this by checking the color of the nickname which should have the same color as the captions used for the below paragraphs (exception: staff members who are also level 2/3 users might have purple or pink nicknames). to learn what forum a moderator is assigned to.The Administrators are the ones in charge of elitepvpers. They form the agenda, add new features, appoint new staff members and have the final say in each and every crucial decision.
An administrator's rights include:
- Full access to all forums
- Moderating rights throughout the entire board (forums, blogs, profiles, etc.)
- Giving warnings and infractions
- Editing and deleting posts in Premium Shoutbox
- Banning users
- Removing TBM ratings
- Resetting elite*gold PIN
- Editing user details (nicknames, emails, signatures, avatars, etc.)
- Appointing new staff members e.g. Developers, as well as level 2/3 users
- Creating new forums, editing and deleting existing forums
- Access to all private messages
- Access to treasures
Global Moderators are responsible for all forums that don't have a local moderator assigned to them. Global moderators handle reports from unmoderated forums and private messages, take care of your complaints in
and execute ban requests. If you are having a problem with another moderator, a general question, or stumble across a highly inappropriate post that needs to be dealt with ASAP, feel free to contact one of the global moderators.A global moderator's rights include:

Community Managers are responsible for all matters regarded to moderation, meaning they monitor the overall moderation activity, mediate in disputes and introduce newly appointed moderators into the team. Community Managers are the go-to person for user complaints and any other community related issues. They also appoint and mange Guardians. In case you need help with anything, you can contact them anytime.
A community manager's rights include:
- Access to certain private or internal forums, including
- Moderating rights throughout the entire board (forums, blogs, profiles, etc.)
- Giving warnings and infractions
- Editing and deleting posts in Premium Shoutbox
- Editing polls
- Banning users
Moderators watch over the forum(s) they are assigned to. They will handle your reports, but are also the ones to contact should you be having any problems. Moderators are also responsible for profile reports. Contrary to what many users believe, moderators cannot ban anyone! Moderators also do not have access to user details (email addresses, IP addresses, etc.).
A moderator's rights include:
- Access to certain private or internal forums, including
- Moderating rights in their assigned forum(s)
- Giving warnings and infractions
- All Premium features, including access to the shoutbox and the respective forums
- Global moderating rights for user profiles and user groups
- Global editing rights for tags
Developers mostly work on updates and improvements to the software running on our servers. Members with this rank will have a considerable level of access. This includes access to many internal discussion forums as well as code repositories where we store and maintain the source code of our custom-made add-ons for our forum software. This is also the reason why you cannot formally apply for this rank. Instead the board administrators will appoint new developers if they deem someone competent and trustworthy.
Designers maintain and improve elitepvpers visual identity e.g. by creating images for the content team, working on the forum's user interface or working together with developers on the front-end. Members with this rank will have a considerable level of access. This includes access to many internal discussion forums and if necessary as well to code repositories. This is also the reason why you cannot formally apply for this rank. Instead the board administrators will appoint new designers if they deem someone competent and trustworthy.
Editorial Ranks
The board's editorial staff is responsible for providing you with the most recent news related to gaming or other interesting current events. All acting editorial ranks come with a blue username. If you feel that you got what it takes to become part of our team of volunteers, see
for more information about the positions and application procedure.An Editor's job is to compose and publish news articles that might interest the gaming community, be it game news, events or technology. Editors have access to certain private discussion forums and may create threads in
forums. In addition to that, they are granted access to the Premium forums.Event planners work closely together as a team in order to organize forum events (raffles, contests, etc.) for special holidays, anniversaries and other occasions, thus making sure everyone is having a good time. In order to do so, they have access to certain private discussion forums. In addition to that, they are granted access to the Premium forums.
Special Ranks
This rank is to specifically honor very notable community members that have been contributing for a long time and significantly shaped elitepvpers on its journey. There are no formal requirements for this rank, we will grant it on a case by case basis (though most of the eligible people will most likely be among former admins, community managers and global moderators). Legends will be granted all Premium privileges.
This rank is granted to former members of the staff who have been a moderator, global moderator or administrator for a certain amount of time. It is a prestige rank that is meant as a token of respect and gratitude for the voluntary work carried out as a members of the staff. It does not come with any additional rights.
This prestige rank is awarded to former members of the editorial staff as a token of gratitude and appreciation for their voluntary work done for elitepvpers. It does not come with any additional rights.
This rank is to specifically honor (business) partners and generous backers. You cannot formally apply for this rank. Instead the board administrators will grant it on a case by case basis.
This prestige rank is awarded to members who have been active for more than a decade and are a familiar face on elitepvpers. It does not come with any additional rights.
User Ranks
This rank is mostly about prestige as it is essentially a reward for users who not only abide by the rules, but also report rule violations on a regular basis. Guardians who also happen to have the Premium (or Level 2/3) rank are able to change the color of their username back to black. - All Premium features, including access to the shoutbox and the respective forums
- Access to our team-internal Discord server to hang out with the staff
- Access to certain private forums
- Increased private message storage (1,000 messages)
- Limited moderative rights on our official Discord server
Level 2
Level 2 rank will be awarded to those who have proven their expertise in game hacking. It comes with a purple username and grants access to the Level 2 forums, Premium forums, Premium Shoutbox, as well as access to all underground forums. Additionally, Level 2 users may edit tags. Level 3 rank will be awarded to those who have proven to possess tremendous knowledge in terms of game hacking. It comes with a pink username and grants access to the Level 3 forums, Level 2 forums, Premium forums, Premium Shoutbox, as well as access to all underground forums.
