Trust me, we're always watching. We'll know who is knowledgable or not.

Really, it's not to be a showoff, it's like you stated before, so our **** doesn't get patched. Another reason is so Nexon doesn't find out. I mean, in a way it's similar to a drug store.

A store that has been suspected of selling illegal drugs is hiding under a pet store cover. The "pet" store is bugged by the local police, and they look for proper evidence.

For epvp, it's like this.

A forum has been suspected of distributing game client modifications. This forum is now being watched by nexon employees.

Maybe if nexon wasn't "bugging" this forum, people would get stuff done, but that's not the case. Instead, it goes in the circle of people leaking mods, and then they end up on here, then patched the next maintenance.

So that, is why there are underground modders.

I'll take a different stance here.

What DR did had to be done. Someone had to teach everyone (or most everyone, myself included), that you really can't trust anyone. That kind of trust is what gets skilled modders into trouble.

Now, the UG isn't meant to be some to secret super blah blah blah organization. It's purpose is to keep the work of the few out of the hands of the many, because that's what the few desire. If you have a problem with that, then you gotta do a couple things to fix it.

1) If you're really not a programmer by any means, do not desire to learn, and just desire to leach, then this you're out of luck.
2) If you are a respectable programmer or are willing to learn, put forth effort! You won't learn instantly. When I started, I was a clueless idiot. I'd like to think that I've made it quite some way since them... There's really various ways you can start. Learn how the game works (the gears on the inside, not just what you see on the outside), and start changing some stuff around. Trust me, you'll fail 95% of the time. But failure is as much a learning experience as success is, in many ways. Eventually, you'll get the hang of stuff. You'll learn techniques, what tends to work, what doesn't.

A great way to learn is to reverse engineer. Don't bother writing your own shit to start, its not easy (well... it is, but knowing where to look for it isn't). I'd point you to a post made by spr33 on lemu ages ago about how he reverse engineers jinsunogi, but its well... gone, as it was on lemu... Well anyways, if someone has it, maybe they can paste it here. It was a great mini-tut on how to reverse engineer. You'll learn tons, and write useful mods.

Unfortunately, getting started with your own .dll file isn't easy anymore. The code released by spr33 upon his departure needs heavy modification to work. For starters, learn how to just patch memory addresses using ollydbg and ida.

At some point, if you've proven yourself competent and successful, you'll get the invites you want. Just don't go out there and release random shit to gain fame. I made that mistake earlier, and I had to deal with some of my earlier work floating all over the place, where I didn't want it. If you want to "impress" people, you know who these people are. Talk to him, show them what you have, but do not, I mean do NOT beg. I think I speak for most everyone when I say that everyone hates beggers (k, except the one doing the begging...).

yes and if there weren't so many fkin idiots in the forums there will always be ONE person that leaks them but.. to bad it cant be that way every day on a hacking/modding site you are going to see someone beg and beg.... and all that time they spent begging they could have learned to mod there self
