Brand new people should head to Mabimods instead. Pake/AlissaFix is only for experienced modders.

Make sure you read the rules as well~

But they will never learn anything there. While the people there seem nice and don't troll, that place is so retarded sometime.

They'll learn more there if they ask questions (while following the rules) than they will here. This place is only trolls and handouts to people who can hardly even copy and paste correctly, so they don't even deserve the majority of things here to begin with.

I'm not sure what you mean by "learn anything there" There's a BUNCH of topics on the Guide section that is a great start for beginners. Those who want to learn modding should start there. Beginners should always start lurking around in the guide section because it contains so many useful stuff. How to denagle yourself, How to PMG Swap, How to make Custom Pet AI Messages. They should all start there and once they feel like they master that kind of modding then they can move up to more advanced features, which is hard coding and reserve engineering the client. Which I will admit it is kinda hard to find a tutorial over there but the ASM itself is already a difficult process to understand, that's why I label it as an advance modding. If they are truly interested then we can offer help about that by giving them old sources like Fantasia where they can experiment a little on the ASM OP codes and hex AOB Searching.

So yeah, I don't understand what you meant by "But they will learn nothing there" when there's a **** ton to learn as a beginner. I just think it takes a lot of patience, independence(not much, but there is help out there) and creative to do this kind of task.

Yea right. Too much rules there. In a sense isn’t the spirit of hacking/modding to break the rules? If you are really a “rules” person then you should go modless.
I sense an enormous amount of hypocrisy when I see the RULES on mabimods being written by MARCK. Like come on… I can never get over that part.

When a forum is named “mabimods” and it doesn’t even allow cheat engine…it’s pathetic.

A year ago I was a total noob in the whole modding business. Never used any mod or touched pake. But I knew pake was a powerful thing and I’ve always wanted to have the skill to understand it and make it work for me. After years of self-learning in reversing and whatnot, last summer I finally feel it was time for me to get it working. But I knew absolutely nothing about it. It’s hard to get something to work when you don’t know what work it does. Knowing I would probably get trolled if I asked here, I went over to mabimods and made a thread asking what dinput8.dll is. All I got was a bunch of people auguring whether that thread should be there and then my thread was deleted. So I came here and made another thread. Thankfully I got a few intelligent responses with info to get me going. From there I reversed dinput8 and fixed pake and blah blah.

Around the same time, there was this thread called “a challenge to the community” on mabimods asking people to contribute a way to bypass TMD checksum to make patcher possible. Since I had a way to do it so I posted a video in there showing me changing maps with alissa logging the sent packets. (I only fixed 1 hook at the time so all alissa did was logging sent packets, nothing more). I was expecting to be contacted by some dev to share the bypass info. But instead I got flamed by some guy called shaggyze. I explained it was only to demonstrate the checksum bypass and deleted the video right away. (Honestly it was the only thing I could use as I didn’t have any other mod) But he insisted anything that had anything to do with “bad cake” was a crime and the flame continued. I was like screw this I’m done with this place lol.

So you see, when I asked a question there, it didn’t work. When I tried to contribute there it didn’t work either.
I would rather get trolled than having so many rules.

Yea…good if you just want to do xml edits and pmg swaps. I never had much interested on those stuff and never really spent time on them. I set my goal to go for the powerful stuff right from the beginning. Since OP is asking about alissafix, he probably has the same goal and won’t find anything valuable there.
But sorry OP, if you are brand new and just starting, I suggest you to stop right away. There used to be heaps of fun one can have with pake. But not anymore, all the funs are taken already by people in the past and mabinogi is now more secure than ever.

Okay so I had a nice long post explaining why people don't need to have their hard work leaked just to have it patched not long after because nearly everyone here abuses things which completely ruins other players gaming experience. Which is also why there should be limits on what does get released. I also mentioned that if you did have a Themida CRC bypass, you should have contacted a dev directly since any posts with pake are frowned upon because of the obvious destructive nature of it. It should not, however, been grounds for any flaming, if said flaming did happen. After explaining all this thoroughly, my computer decided to get a BSoD, so sorry for not explaining things in depth.

The people at Mabimods mod to provide a enhancing gameplay. It's a little boost that they like to provide, Because they actually love Mabinogi and they like to give support to the game without bringing any harm to the regular community what so ever.

I think that rule is lifted. While trying to create a new dye modification I was able to talk about a function of CE just fine without any problems from the moderators or admins what so ever.

Not to be judgmental but I think shaggyze, From my observance probably didn't know much about the hardcoding of the client and how themida worked. If I had his mindset I would freak out too because of the allsia program. As a result, because you showed that program, you got a "ZOMG NO PAKE ALLOWED IN THIS WEBSITE WAHHH".

Your results would've been much better if you were able to go to different region areas showing basic mods (like bitmap). If you don't know how to do those basic mods. You could've at least used mod_kirisame at that time.

Must've been hard to do...but I bet the info you got helped you alot

To this day I don't know what kirisame is and have never touched it
But even if I did try to used it it probably wouldn't work either becauce chances were it was probably not updated to work with the standalone client at the time. (Just like pake)

I **** you not, it did happen, I was not happy. I get a couple BSoD's a month -.-

mod_kirisame, I believe, was made after the Client got packed. I heard the creator just threw it together until someone could make a better one, but it's what I've been using as a base for quite some time. I have a new core I've been working on now, but that's besides the point.

I never get bsod unless I am tackling those filthy anticheats like nprotect and xtrap.
If it was made after the client got themida then I think it should already have a checksum bypass built in. But anyways I don't know much about it and don't really care.

It didn't because it was loaded by the recv pake that had it built in already.

Hello fellow elitepvpers. OLD THREAD. NEWER VERSION IS HERE. I see ayamin has already released a version of alissafix with hardcoded function addresses and a bunch of other stuff. I might as well give you guys the full thing. Here I present you the full alissafix with source code(project is in VS2012). You should read the source and see how it works. You guys will most likely be the ones to update it if something happens to it. :) I am not planning to work on anything related to mabi...
