Moderator Application-Perfect World Trading

To whom it may concern,

I'd like to apply to become a moderator of the Perfect World Trading page.


My Experiences
I've been a member of this trading page for over nine years now and I've been playing the game, on various severs, since 2009. While I have taken a few breaks over time, I've currently been active for roughly five years. I don't have the *required* 150 posts on this account, however if you look through my history, I think you can see I've been fairly active and have a good track record.

Why me?
As I said, I've been a member of EPVPers for 9 years now and have been a player of Perfect World International for well over a decade. While the game is slowly fading into MMO Heaven, there are still a few hundred, perhaps thousand, active players. The forum is still fairly alive with posts for accounts, items and gold. I've noticed an increased number of scammers lately in this forum. I'm not sure if it's due to the games age, or just people seeing it as an easy mark. Given my time playing the game, I can say I'm about as knowledgeable as it gets. That includes the prices of gold and items, as well as accounts that may be for sale. Just while skimming through this afternoon the first two posts I came across for coin sellers were very obvious scams. While this game might not have too long left, I'd like to try be of help while I can. More people are using this site lately and sadly, more are getting scammed one way or another. Regardless if the game is dying or thriving, nobody should get scammed when it's preventable. If my application or experiences are lacking, please let me know. I'd be happy to represent the PWI Playerbase here.

User isn't even active on EPVP.
Posts from him are spam (see Todays posts for example).
And there are barely any posts in these 9 Years.

Spam how so? Those are two accounts that were created today and had 6-11 posts within 10 minutes of account creation. Go back through the last few months of similar accounts selling coins/accounts and see the pattern. As far as posts, it's a trading page selling/buying accounts. I view the page daily and have been an active user. I can see posts on other topics, maybe where information is shared or conversations happen, but PWI Trading isn't the page for that. A moderator is there to ensure a sites standards are being followed, and I don't think there is one actively there that knows the game. I don't need to comment on every post to do so. Thank you for your input either way.

Well, you can't apply for a BM sub-forum. You have to apply for TheBlackMarket. But we usually let people join our BM team who have done well in other sections before, you know? If I were you, I'd probably start with the Guardian position to get some experience.

My answer would be no at this point in time.

I have carefully reviewed your application for the moderator position and I am unsure whether you can meet the requirements. The role of a moderator is very demanding. You need to be able to familiarize yourself with many topics, always remain friendly, even in conflict situations, and not be influenced by others. You need to enjoy interacting with other people and offering them your help. Above all, you need to invest several hours a week in your tasks and have excellent writing skills to avoid misunderstandings.

You write that you have been a member of your topic for several years, but then justify yourself by saying that you have written too few posts. This conflicts with the requirements for a moderator. You need to be known and write several posts per week. If you don't do that, how is that supposed to work as a moderator? You also haven't collected many thanks yet, which you get when you help others and solve their problems.

Anyone can create an account, write 50 posts, and log back in after 5 years and say they're a long-time member. But for me, activity means something else.

Therefore, I would reject your application.
