I understand that I do not meet the 300 post count requirement. If this cannot be overlooked, that is understandable. I am not currently involved in a private server project that is advertised, however I am involved in a project which will be released open source for the community of Shaiya to continue developing, and run their servers.
Introduction:
My name is Triston, and I am 21 years old. I speak exclusively English, so unfortunately I cannot help the lovely German folk that might frequent the forum, however the majority of the time, I assume that Google Translator would be enough to get a rough understanding on the thread, and perhaps good enough to put together a coherent response. I was previously studying an undergraduate degree in Computer Science, but it has been put on hold while I work (currently working as a manager at a local bar).
Contact Details:
I can be contacted though Elitepvpers private message (I check my emails associated to this account every morning), or through my Skype, which is "triston.plummer"
Why am I applying?
I like to tell myself that I have a pretty sound understanding of the rules here at epvp, and I can generally tell when something either doesn't quite match the requirements of a section, or perhaps a program is uploaded to the forum which doesn't do what the user claims it does. At the moment, I believe Shaiya has either no moderator, or an inactive one, and I'd be happy to change that, as I frequent the forum daily anyway.
Experience with the game:
I first started playing the game in 2012, and played it off and on since then. I got involved with private servers during late 2014, and joined here in March 2015, after a friend of mine suggested that we give Shaiya Development a shot. I begun developing simple scripts, and when I realised how cumbersome the development process is (for those who don't know, Shaiya private servers currently use stolen server binary files from the official game), I decided to attempt to change that, which is what sparked my interest in developing
. I know the majority of how the game works, it's features, and the players involved.Thank you for reading my application. In the past, I've made a few releases that were somewhat damaging to existing private servers. Such is the life of having a "Hack and Exploits" forum. Though, I have since moved on to trying to improve the development of the game, and perhaps give it some life. I will be happy to answer any questions in regards to my application, or my motives behind becoming a moderator.
