bios needed or no?

my laptop is originaly premade with win7 64bit and the very first version of bios which is v1.11 Hype v2 or something

and i had windows 8.1 64bit pro installed KMSpico pre-cracked and i had issues with my hdd being 100% usage (prefetch disable, search disabled -> services) and had mouse struggle problems too ... in other words alot of problems mostly minor though! because i loved the speed that win8.1 offered and i was wondering maybe i need to update my BIOS for win8.1 pro since this is a win7 laptop naturaly but the bios is old latest version is 1.21 for my bios from acer.com downloads

but in general would a BIOS update help with win8.1 pro OS ? because this laptop was made in 2011 mid year(summer) and i bought straight up as soon as it came out in shops bios is 1.11 now which is original ... so just wondering if a BIOS update would solve win8.1 pro compatiblity or something ?
