Running two 'instances' of the Guild Wars Client:
-------------------------------------------------

NOTE: Editing the GW Client is against the EULA and other Legal dooverlackies.

This is purely for educational purposes. I do not claim to have found this or be some uber-computer-guy.
You do and read this at your own responsibility.

Now that's out of the way...

You will need LOTS of RAM to run two instances, not to mention a G-Card that can handle being slapped around a little.
You will also need a Hex Editor with a "Find and Replace" option.

1) COPY your "Guild Wars" installation folder to another location, or dupe and rename.

e.g. "C:\Program Files\Guild Wars\" to "C:\Program Files\Guild Wars2\"

2) Rename the Guild Wars client .exe "GW.exe" in the second install directory to something else.

e.g. "GW.exe" to "GW2.exe"

3) Open up the Hex Editor and open "GW2.exe".
You then need to "Find and Replace" each and every occurance of "Guild Wars" (Without the quotes, duh) with something like "Gu1ld W4rz". Anything that fits 10 letters long, including spaces.
I suggest calling it something similar for Guild Wars, just for self-security purposes. If it's somehow logged, I think they'll pick up on stupid names like "Penis Wars".

4) You need to export and change some ".reg" files.
The easiest way of making these is to go to "Start>Run" (or Windows Key + R Key), then type "regedit" (Without the quotes, duh).
Then navigate your way to:

"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ArenaNet&#0 92;Guild Wars\"

Click once on the "Path" registry entry. Next, click "File>Export..."
Save the Reg File as "Account Path 1.reg" and place it in the original install directory.

5) Make a second copy of the reg file. Rename to "Account Path 2.reg" and place it in the second install directory made earlier.
After this is done, you will need to edit them.

a) Right click the one you want to edit, then choose "Edit" from the clickmenu.
It should look something like this:

================================================== =

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ArenaNet&#09 2;Guild Wars]
"CD"="D:\\Data\\GW\\ "
"Path"="C:\\Program Files\\Guild Wars\\Gw.exe"
"Chapter 1"="1"
"Src"="D:\\Data\\GW\&#092 ;GwSetup.exe"

================================================== =

Now, Leave one of the reg files with the path of your original installation, like above.

b) On the second reg file, choose edit like before, but this time change the path so that its points to the second installation that you copied earlier.
Like the below reg file:

================================================== =

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ArenaNet&#09 2;Guild Wars]
"CD"="D:\\Data\\GW\\ "
"Path"="C:\\Program Files\\Guild Wars2\\Gw2.exe"
"Chapter 1"="1"
"Src"="D:\\Data\\GW\&#092 ;GwSetup.exe"

================================================== =

6) Make a shortcut to the "GW2.exe" and place it on your desktop or wherever your other Guild Wars icon is.
Rename to something.

Now make a shortcut to each of the ".reg" files made earlier and place them in the same handy spot.

7) Organise the icons so they're not confusing.

e.g.

[Guild Wars] [Account 1]
[Guild Wars 2] [Account 2]
(If you understand what i mean.)

Now, here comes the part that makes you smile.

8) Double click the Account 1 reg file, allow it to write to the registry, then run the icon to the original Guild Wars installation (Guild Wars, as in above diagram).
Log in, load up.

9) Double click the Account 2 reg file, allow it to write to the registry, then run the icon to the second Guild Wars installation (Guild Wars 2, as in above diagram).
Log in, load up.

TADA! You now have two instances of Guild Wars running. Now you can open the Northern Wall gate to solo in pre, trade, farm, whatever you intend to do with two accounts on at once.

Hopefully this will be simple enough and well documented enough for you to follow and do successfully.
If not, make sure you're doing it right. This does work as I do it all the time.

You can make as many "dupes" of the Guild Wars directory and exe (providing its renamed differently each time within the exe and with the name) as you like. As long as you have enough accounts, RAM and video-RAM to do so.

Please note:
I will not supply you with an edited client exe.
It's against the terms you agreed to when signing up.
It's shadey, so stfu about it, don't potentially ruin it for others.
Also, there may (sometimes) be some texture break up, flickering, or wrong textures on some characters or landscape. This is to do with some kind of texture violation when the graphics are allocated to the card or something. It's rare and live with-able.

Good luck and good gaming!

yea and why the hell rename everything with the name Guildwars to something else; use 2 different reg files to change path to gw, if you could change the path to: "Path"="gw.exe", so every instance of the game starts in it`s own folder... :P
well if you like it much more complicated
