Go to Morhan's Grotto leave to Ice Floe run out a little bit, hold down control+alt and you should see a chest. It is guarded by a couple of imps but you should be able to make it. I have gotten an easy 30k in about 2 hours with this exploit.
Marhans Grotto DOES exist and this trick semi works... it is just awfully hard for every class that can't shrug of a LOT of damage as the place is spammed with Ice Imps. I mean, really spammed. There gotta be like 30 of them most of the time and even with Illusion of Weakness and Mantra of Frost the Damage is often far too high to even reach the chest.
A friend of mine, warrior, has similiar problems there, even with Endure Pain and all kind of Protection Skills he gets hit there real hard now and then... enough to take him down.
The few times this works though, does pay off the dying.
Btw, the grotto is kinda hidden and in the southern Shiverpeaks...

Thanks for the tip. Im a W/Mo and using Endure Pain, Mending and Sprint I get there very easily. Also, the amoutn of ice imps and their locations changes everytime you go in. The location of the chest also seems to change.
i can get there with my ele/necro and i can avoid most imps, a few hit me but the chest is opened and items picked up and im back at marhans before i die.
Just wanted to add another thing on top of that on how to maximize the gold flow from this.
This chest puts out an rightoues insane amount of staffs. Staffs translate into wood planks if you salvage them.
Taken they are highlevel versions they give up to 15 wood planks each piece. However... Wood Planks translate into Parchment.. and that into big time money on weekends. So what i did to get even more out of this.. salvage all kind of staffs except for the Bone Staff. Sell the rest to the merchant. After you got a nice sum of wood planks, beam to Sardillac Sanitarium and head out of it. There is an artisan almost right there.
Let him make parchment out of the wood planks and stack those Parchments up as much as you can. Now it takes you some patience to hit the weekend. Why weekend? Because you are selling those pieces to the trader and it is controlled by demand. And demand is highest when most people play the game. Weekend.
Those useless stacks of Wood Plank just translated into easy money. 10 Parchments sell for 700 during the week, and up to 1200 at the weekend.
Parchment - Takes 5 Woodplanks and 20 Gold to make.
I had no trouble getting to past the imps, usually they didnt even spawn near the chest. I nearly cleaned all my bags and inventory so I had 40 slots availible for loot (fewer merchant visits). I ran for 1 hour no breaks, and only 2 or 3 merchant visits, while sprinting to the chest everytime. I made 60 runs (1 each minute approx.) and came out with 6727 gold. That's not 30k in 2 hours by any chance. But still pretty nice money anyway.
I'll try the Roll of Parchment trick later, since yeah, this chest really drops a lot of staffs.
I managed to get 1 purple bow during this hour as well.
