Hi,
because I get scammed yesterday, I write a ne topix against scamming.
If you get scammed, you can get all your stuff back!!
All what you have to do is using the NEW feature from arenanet, which is called: "Account Restoration".
What have you to do? Step by Step!
Firstly remember, when you was hacked.
Secondly take a time maybe 1 day before you get hacked.
Thirdly write to Nc-Soft Support Team and appeal for a Account Restoration to your Time.
Last but not least, hope that the Supportteam is friendly enough to give you all back.
Best of is, that they restore also your deleted Charakters back, if you get hacked

So next topic.
Of course you have many new problems which this new feature, for example Gold buying. But here is a little Tipp, just buy from Powertraders here on elitepvpers and take the "request a trade" button
Sometimes, if you buy for more thank 100$, ask for the mobilephone number.

About your thread, this new feature only works if you account got hacked and not if you got scam in-game, right?

No, it works if you lose something, because a hacker not just come to your account and steal everything, sometimes, if he is silly, he delete all your charakters to.
And of course, you have to say to the support team, that you get hacked and not that you sold gold

Ah and my feedback is, because I give something away for just a little gift or for free.
It´s Christmas and maybe you have something what you don´t need, so give it away and be lovely to someone

You need to be careful about this. I saw on forum_guildwars.com that they are observing all the trades/drops the hacker did on the hacked account. So if they see you(with your IP) drop ectos/zkeys/gold/whatever to some1else (different IP) they will know you sell gold and they won't help you recover your items. Instead, they will ban you for real-life exchange.
I would suggest to only use this new feature if some1 get his account hacked. Otherwise, I think it is too risky.

About your feedbacks, it is nice your gave present for Holidays, but it is legit to do this?!

Your not suppose to be receiving feedback for giving things away for free, it's against the rules:

Abusing the TBM rating system is prohibited! Giving ratings for giveaway offers or raffles, as well as accumulating ratings by excessively performing elite*gold trades marginally above the rating threshold is not allowed and will be punished by all means.

well, honestly, the problem about fighting against scammers is this forum ...
the mods etc. do everything scammers can continue their crime.
Because when you blame a scammer and have not sent a previous pm to an admin/moderator, you get an infraction and the thread is closed and the scammer can go on.

If they would not close these threads immediately, or they just would get a moderate moderator into the gw section that knows whats happening in the black market section, that would help the world.

Or if everyone who is trading with someone who has <20 feedbacks just use a middleman.

Or use a middleman when you do not know your trade partner.
Because faking identities is too simple and so is getting reputation ...

Well, i got scammed too one time..but you cant do nothing, because when you drop something in explorable area :
First off all its your fault because trade system is made to fight scammers (in game) and its hard to scamm when you can see what happening in chat/trade window.
So Drop in explorable is anti-ban system, but you must know risks.
Second, they can ask why you dropped items in explorable areas, and i want know what you would say to them.

The list of trusted people...may work or not, so not sure..

I get scammed once, and i learned, in the past month i sold 265,35$ of items and this month 154,61$..you just need to be honest with people and people come back to you...i will not become rich this way, because im slow farming thing but im sure ppl will buy again from me =)

If you still dont want trust people do like me : small trades.
Instead trade 1 stack of ecto, trade 70/100e at time..people that pay with paypal dont pay anything except items, and you pay a small fee (1,8%-3% + 0.35€).

well unfortunately, most of these sellers are german, and they have to pay paypal fees (as receiver) so trading small amounts would cost you more.

What? Isnt paypal free for buyers? I NEVER paid fees as buyer...
I pay fees when i receive money with "payment links", that yes.

I pay 0.35€ + 1.8% - 3% of total cost as fees....but i really dont care about 1€ of fees or something like, its a full gain anyway because im selling "pixels".
By the way i never heard about fees paid by buyers, i repeat i never paid as buyer....maybe rules changed in last year...i keep it in mind when someone buy again...

so i am guessing u get payments as payments for goods as well... what normally happens is the buyer sends the paypal payment as a gift with the additional fee charges the seller gets fixed price 250e=25$ = 25$+.55cents from the buyer as a gift

sending as goods is a serious risk since its high chance of been recharged and reinversed since its hard to convince pixel goods with no track of proper proof of trade

yeah, you don't have fees as a buyer.
But the guys taking this business serious would'nt sell for only like 80% win.
Best thing would be a trusted list with MM and staff and everyone who is scammed is just dumb^^

No No,I never ask "gifts", i always send a payment link with "paypal button PAY", where there is the name of items + price and shipment fees (that are 0$)... I just pay the fees as seller and im done...so if i ask 25$ i usually get something like 23,40$ with a fee of 1,60$.

Yep, agree some people take this to MUCH serious..Honestly if i get 80% of what i ask its fine for me ^_^

well you should be careful cause chargebacks are easy with ur method your only proof is ingame trade shots which is not acceptable this is imho. i have my sellers list i only goto them if i am in a hurry i mite test out another but best to use MM and also that with maybe with certain reputable ppls suggestions and not any MM so many scammers its just unreal
