Sims 3 Multiplayer.

Hi Elite's .
Normally i'm mostly into Blizzard games(forums), but lately my family, gf and several friends of mine have started playing Sims 3. -This made me give the multiplayer idea a thought... I've looked for mod's already, and there wasn't really any to be found... And all other places i've looked, they argured about multi vs. single player engine, or if it's even legal to make/use(I have no clue)??
-Besides, Ea already announced they won't put in a multiplayer function.

So my req. is following: Can I get any of you coders or scripters, to look at this with new eye's, and see if there's any possible way to get a "private" server running. With firends and family to play with only? No huge servers and stuff.
-Personally, my thoughts run back to Diablo 2, where you enter by IP adress of the game??
