The main question is "What to expect from this sequel?". The question arises due to the change of directors, as now new directors have taken over all the creative aspect of the game, now taken care of by Tomoshiro Shibuya and Yui Tanimura; while Hidetaka Miyazaki has been promoted to a higher plane of management.
It has been said that there are changes coming to this game, as an example of this we can take Tomoshiro Shibuya's words:
"I personally am the sort of person who likes to be more direct than subtle; Dark Souls II will be more straightforward and more understandable"
Certainly, it has been promised that the game will not let players down, and this is what was said by Carlson Choi (Vice President of Marketing for Namco Bandai)
"From Software is going to take a very dark path with Dark Souls II; players will need to look deep within themselves to see if they have the intestinal fortitude to embark on this journey"
This gives us some ideas as of how the game is going to be, and how the story will develop, yet, everything we have are assumptions...and this intense trailer....
