Thanks for the feedback. Weather should be very easy to do, just need to think how to do the UI for it. I also wanted to get previous weathers implemented (for fish that need like Rain->Clear), but that will need implementation of the predictive algorithm.
Regarding stats, everything is recorded to uminchu.csv, so you can sort of do it already. The big issue is that it doesn't record the name of the fish, just tug strength at the moment. I was able to figure out some fish times with careful looking, but recording the name of the fish will be a big deal for parsing data. I've got some long term dreams for logging but they are still dreams right now...

- Update for 2016-07-20
- Pointer update for 3.35.
- Added weather conditionals. It seems we only need to talk about 6 distinct weather types (Sunny, Cloudy, Foggy, Windy, Precipitation, and Phenomena) to describe fishing, so this simplified the UI needs. (which is now quite a mess overall...)

Thanks for the fast update!
If possible, i'd recommend 2 UI modes to switch between, the big one (kinda what it currently is) and a small simplified one for some quick glance at common info. Things like Job / Level, the Debug stuff, TP, MP, CP etc. take a lot of space, but aren't really neccessary for most users 98% of the time. Though i'm sure all that info is very helpful when you're working on the program
And then there's the weathers. There's probably no really elegant way to implement them all, but for the ARR fishes you'd need a lot more. For example, the Namitaro (needed for the nepto dragon quest line, i think) requires Thunder or Thunderstorms.

Thanks for the feedback. Indeed, the UI is getting out of hand now. I've had a small UI mode on my list of considered features since the beginning, I think it's time to explore that.
For the small mode, what do you consider to be the essential data? Do you want settings available in the small mode too (might be not so small in that case), or do you consider it just for monitoring? I guess I have in mind: Name, Status, GP, Time, and the last few casts, and the button to toggle modes. That seems like it could be pretty small.
Regarding weathers, I got you covered. Thunder is included in Precipitation. Since Rain/thunder/snow never occur in the same zone, it seems this minimalist setting will work nicely. It doesn't distinguish between Thunder and Thunderstorms, though, but from what I can tell there is no fish that is sensitive to that distinction. Am I wrong?

The last casts are great, yeah. If you can figure out a way to get the Bait used to display as its name instead of (what i assume is) its ID, that would be cool, too, don't have to open the lure box to check if you've got the right lure on. Aside from that, Name, Status, Gp and Time sound good.
Since the program already differentiates mooch tugs, you rarely need to change that mid-fishing. Same for weathers, hours, collectability or the fishing mode.
I'd probably include the Mooch/Chum/Patience options in the small UI though, these are the options you'd most likely want to change on the fly if you're just randomly fishing around.
I didn't consider the weather states to be consolidated like that. Makes a lot of sense. I'd have to check if there's any with some extremely picky weather preferences that these options wouldn't catch.
(Of course, then there's the fish that need a certain weather CHANGE, like the Mahar going Clear -> Blizzard. Not sure if implementing that wold be worth the effort, and i don't think i've seen any other program ever do that)

Previous weather is something I'm going to do eventually. It's actually pretty straightforward since Clorifex published the algorithm for weather, but it does require a bit of time for someone like me.
Resolving bait name is very easy. Might as well do map ID too.
My first changes to the UI will probably be removing unnecessary stuff like CP and XYZ without a mini mode. Then mini mode. Might be separate updates. I can utilize the maximize button to toggle, since it doesn't have a function right now.

I found something:
See that Cast #3? That number showed up when i was fishing @ Thaliak river and the fish snapped my line with a goblin jig.

Great, I'll add that. It was hard for me to suss out the break animation IDs, so I just guessed based on other IDs. I guess you were sitting down, right?
I have been unsubbed for a while but I'm glad it's still functional (map/weather broke, it seems). I'll hop on this weekend for the event and to fix some little things.

Yeah, i was sitting down, i always am when i'm fishing.
And yeah, it still works pretty well (i've been rarely fishing lately so i didn't notice the map/weather thing). I think patch 3.4 is coming in like two or three weeks, so that's something to look out for.

Did some small touch ups after 2 months of break. There's no mini mode, but I'm happy with how it looks again.
- 0.116.09.18
- Tidied up the UI.
- Now resolves Job and Bait names rather than raw IDs.
- Now properly resolves the sitting animation ID for line breaks. (Thanks KrudeMetal!)
- Fixed some pointers (weather/time/map)

Is there any other link to the bot, I can't seem to download it as I'm constantly getting a service unavailable message?

Auto Fishing Bot-frage
07/09/2008 - World of Warcraft - 3 Replies
hello,
