Exactly. I do try to fix things like game crashing bugs or exploits when/if they get reported. Unfortunately people don't really report those.

The SVN is the original source that we started with and riddled with bugs. The SVN is simply for those that want to start building on a server. It's not viable as it is to be a stable public server though just another option.

Can't suggest anything about the problems you were having as you just noted it was unstable for you and didn't get specific. No worries, least 6.4 works for you and your able to play.

Test server updates:

Bug: Server crashing when players have 2-3 mobs on them.
Status: Patched, Needs testing.

Improvements:
- Players & Mobs will now gain a small % of tp when they take damage.
- 95% of the NPC's have been fixed visually. (test server unique)
- NM's should check as ITG (test server unique)

Changes:
- XP rate is now 2x
- Player speed is +20
- Server crash restart program now set to 2mns.

To Do:
- Allow players to unlock all jobs when they hit level 30. (Test Server Unique)

Notes on updates: With the dark star server continuously being updated and the available forums we will be moving the DLX server information there as well. Eventually updates on patches, file releases, help & support will only be posted there.

How do you join a server? Especially if that person is in the same house as you or does that not make a difference? My brother got his server up today but I don't know how to get in.

put his pc ip in your mxi/ffxi-boot config file as the server host. If ya don't know how to find his pc ip be sure to google how to do it.

Server Update

DLX, over the past month, has been going through a few changes. In this release you will find the following changes.

Linux/Wine capability: DLX Can now be run on linux/wine if people decide to do so.
- I've been testing this for the past month and at the time of this release it is rather stable.

Temporary implementation: All characters upon log-in will get all key items and all spells. This is done to help out those who are having SQL database issues. This also helps me control the server for how/when and the time it takes to load all of those to the character. So the @allspells and @allkeyitems can be disabled for the time being. This is TEMPORARY!!

Bug Fixes:
- Server crashing when player has 2-3 mobs on them : Fixed
- Chocobo status effect not being removed when entering cities : fixed
- 48 errors/warnings : fixed
- 32 math issues with mob ability damage : fixed

Enhancements:
- players and enemies will gain a small amount of TP when they take damage.
- Cleaned up the code and the server file is about 80k smaller than what it used to be. Which takes up less memory.
- Stability.

For those starting a new server you still need all the previous files in order and in order of directions to install. This is ONLY the binary patch.

That's cool that you throw in some fixes here & there!

I noticed that Party invites don't send..
I was going to test your lvl sync, but I couldn't even get in a party to begin with..
Is partying not functional yet? How would you go about fixing that?

a note: the last patch is highly untested because I couldn't get enough people to test it. Though in my personal tests it worked out fine.

Party invites work fine but not across zones.. that has always been this way since the day we started with the source. We just never got to fixing it. The person should be close to you to send the invite and it will work.

level sync is not something we are going to fix. sorry.

Alright, I'll have to test that again. :P

Level sync seems like it would be a hassle anyways, don't worry about it.

I was wondering though, are Merits functional yet?
Can you obtain them in game somehow?

I also noticed that some of the Bard spells were not functional yet.
They would Animate, but not function.
I'd have to check again to tell you exactly which ones.

I played on my brothers server on the 6.5 for whatever and I can say the server crashes only after you enter more than two zones after you put in certain gm commands, & some gm commands worked on certain characters.

merits - never looked into it. Not planning to.
Missing spells - could just be missing lua files which people can add on their own.

The ones I've played on don't do that, neither does the current release. Server hosts have to set up which player can have which GM command in the gmcmd table. the first post has notes regarding that.

Have to try and see. We didn't get to working on that. though a majority of those can be added/fixed in the lua files. Read through the thread on that. Should be a few posts about it.

Tried some zones out, but when I got to sauramogue it got stuck at downloading data. After only one person could be on the server at a time. The person that wasn't already in would be stuck in the middle of the loading screen after choosing your character. Is there a way to fix this? I'm using the latest version too.

Nevermind fixed it.
We had on linkshells.
Got rid of em and it works again.
