To be honest, the scariest thing that have happened was when my cat got sick and didn’t know if she were gonna make it

I live in a Small town and the rhythm of my daily life is in each morning, I woke early to embrace the day, sipping coffee while working. Life is manageable, but beneath the surface, there was a Desire this year to jump to the next step as a family.

When we found out (me & my wife) that we were pregnant, a mix of joy, anxiety and fear washed over me. The weight of the world’s uncertainties pressed down, and I couldn’t help but wonder how I would raise a baby in such a difficult environment. They spoke of sleepless nights and worries but also of laughter, love, and the extraordinary moments that made it all worthwhile.

With the arrival of my little one, the complexities of life transformed into a tapestry of precious memories. I learned to navigate sleepless nights and endless diaper changes with a heart full of love. Each milestone—from the first smile to the little giggles—reminded me that amid life’s challenges, joy could be found in the simplest moments. In nurturing my child, I discovered not only the strength within myself but also the beauty of embracing both the struggles and the love that made life truly remarkable.

At the end where there is fear, after outcoming that there is always joy!

All the best evpers.

When I was a child, I often had recurring dreams of endlessly falling, a sensation that felt both unsettling and out of control. These dreams left me feeling uneasy, as if I were trapped in a cycle of tumbling downward with no end in sight. This experience is one I would prefer not to revisit, as it evokes a sense of helplessness and vulnerability that I’d rather leave in the past.

This year, I took on one of the scariest challenges of my life: skydiving! I thought I was ready, but nothing prepares you for that plane door swinging open at 15,000 feet. As I looked down, my heart dropped faster than I was about to. The jump itself was like falling into a storm—wind howling, ground rushing up, and a tiny voice wondering, "Did they pack this parachute right?" Thankfully, it opened, and I got to enjoy an incredible view (and a huge sigh of relief). Definitely the thrill—and chill—of the year!

Bro, this weird thing happened to me the other night, and I can’t shake it off. I was heading home late, taking my usual shortcut through those quiet streets in Baia Mare. It’s normally chill, but that night something felt…off. You know that feeling, like someone’s there even though you can’t see them? I brushed it off, thinking it was just me being tired.

But as I walked, I kept hearing faint footsteps. At first, I thought it was my own echo, but then I noticed they weren’t in sync with mine. They would start and stop, just slightly out of time with me, like someone was trying to match my pace but failing.

So, I turned around, expecting to see someone, maybe another late-night walker. Nothing. The street was completely empty. I kept going, a bit faster this time, but the footsteps picked up too, always just a beat behind me. It was like this messed-up game of tag I didn’t agree to.

Finally, I couldn’t take it. I turned around and called out, “Hello?!” The footsteps stopped. Silence. But right then, I swear I caught a glimpse of something—a shadow slipping out of view behind a parked car, as if it was just watching, waiting.

I bolted after that, full-on sprinted, didn’t stop until I got home. Checked behind me the whole way, but there was no one. I laughed it off later, thinking I was just paranoid, but here’s the thing that gets me. The next morning, when I left for work, I noticed muddy footprints leading right up to my front door. Just…standing there, as if whoever—or whatever—it was had followed me all the way home and waited outside.

Man, I don’t know. It sounds stupid, but it felt real.

The Uninvited Guest

It all started one quiet evening when I was alone at home. I had just moved into a new apartment, still getting used to the creaks and moans of the unfamiliar space. The air felt thick with silence, the kind that presses in on you, making every little noise seem louder than it really is.

Around midnight, I heard a soft knock on the door. At first, I thought it was a neighbor, maybe someone lost or needing help. But when I opened the door, no one was there. I looked down the hallway, expecting to see someone walking away, but there was nothing. Just darkness.

I shrugged it off, assuming I must’ve imagined it. But then it happened again the next night. And the next. Each time, I would check the hallway, but no one would be there. The knocking was always the same: three soft raps, followed by silence.

One evening, feeling more curious than afraid, I decided to leave the door cracked open just a little. I waited in the shadows, my heart pounding as I listened for the knock. It came at exactly 2:03 a.m. Three raps, then the silence.

I didn’t move. I stayed still, barely breathing, my eyes fixed on the crack in the door. Then, through the faint light from the hallway, I saw something that froze me in place—a pale hand, slowly pushing the door open.

I bolted out of the apartment, but when I returned the next morning, everything was just as I left it. No sign of anyone. No disturbances. But there was a note on my kitchen table, written in a shaky hand: "You should have answered."

That night, I locked every door, every window. And I’ve never heard the knock again. But sometimes, late at night, I feel a chill on the back of my neck, like someone is standing just behind me, waiting.

Started in ePVP more than a decade ago. I was very young back then with lots of time gaming, but fast forward now 2024; I am a fully fledged MD practicing in the State of Texas.

With the premise of this topic of scariest moment; I would say during the pandemic.

It goes without saying that COVID was 100% a mortifying event against humanity, but, to stand at the front row and witness this, intubating patients, trying to treat them, ARDS setting in and eventually have to pronounce them dead to be shipped off to a freezer truck that is located at the back of the hospital where no family members can see them due to the lock down is by far the most scariest, saddest, and quite literally unreal experience I ever encountered.

Some of my fellow doctors, several nurses, and other interdisciplinary team died whom I worked with more than 4 years at the Texas hospital that I am currently an attending to, and without a vaccine at the time, I cannot explain on plain text the sheer fear you have to face as you walk into that hospital door every. single. day --- because the question always remain if whether I'll be the next person in that body bag that I just pronounced several minutes ago.

It's funny how I am typing this since this is essentially a gaming board community. But, I have been part of this community since Ragnarok Online / Maple Story days which helped me reach to my destination today by helping the community as a doctor.

To the mods and owner of this community; thank you for sticking through all these years. Life is extremely short, so live your life to the fullest while you can because believe me, when you are laying on that hospital bed, staring at the ceiling fighting for your breath and you tell me that you have so many regrets that you wish you did / did not do only then you come to appreciate the things you had before you lost it. So be kind, and believe in karma because it comes around.

*** bless all, and best of luck to you ePVP!
