Anyone got any idea what map status this refers to? I did a quick search around and couldn't find anything..

deadisland .. never really heard of . it doesnt even look familiar On the other hand i did hear of an MMO game called DeadIsland ..

Well its in the EO source in the battlesystem as part of a mapcheck which determines if the attacking player should flash or not.

It has a value of 16384.

No one? :s

Its a MapType with the value 0x4000 in hex, no one in this section knows what the maptypes refer to?

as far as i can tell, this maptype isn't used anywhere, i'm not home right now however so i don't have all of my research here... i really wouldn't expect an answer from most people in the section on this sadly korvacs..

what does surprised me however, is not one person here seems to have gone away and done any testing in this... normally if i was to ask at lest someone would say, i have tested this and here is what i got, i don't know if that is just nobody seems to know who you are so they don't help or what.

Type = 16384 when used as map type do:
- PK is allowed
- there is no PK point peanalty for PKing under this map
- Jumping is allowed
- Mount is allowed
- reborning at this map allowed
- using Godblessing Reborn - allowed
- Store position after relog
- killing monsters - possible

and thats pretty all about what this number allow...

so this IsDeadIsland means pretty - hunt and dont get PK points... its characteristic for maps like volcano adventue maps - where PK is out of rules...

As for other examples here is few:

are you sure that map type only do what you were typing there soul? coz base on my experience some of map type will also dissalow you/us to use random portal, town portal and memoryeye and anything similar to teleportation(not teleportation from cq_action)

i see you know many type and i expect you know the calculation of these kind of type, might to guide us how? it would be great lol

About randoming and memory eyes yes some maps could block it etc... personally I didnt put much attention yet to these 2 factors as random portals I am blocking as I need from action side under random item
But yes this can be tested as well and added to what it do and does not ... but by default.... just consider certain type that "allow" both of those 2 factors (since in almost all cases it is allowing)....

About calculations.... no I didnt go that far so I am unable to guide . Maybe when I will be put in situation when It will be "required", which means list of my types wont be enough - I will start the deeper work under this.

Yeah map type is more broad as to the things its capable of. Like you can disallow the use of some skills, items, change the scale of the map, colour lighting, blabla the list goes on. The most important part is how the numbers are actually combined. Its hard to determine which number means "disable jump" and "disable mount" and "disable pk", i've tried to figure it out but I guess its just more complex for logical thinking. If anyone figures that part out, care to share your knowledge and i'll be as kind enough as to share mine.
