ok, so i'm having the same problem with no character name or pet names, and whenever i patch to a different client it always closes after i click enter the server after putting in my username and password... how do i update my client but keep the server working???

this db is quit old try use another guide , like

, easiest for now

btw, I've tried ALL of the other tutorials on how to make my own pserver, but NONE of them have worked except for this one... so i guess i'll deal with updating an old database on a working server instead of having a new db and no working server lol

forgot the patches just get a client that has the new db

Well im sorry my guide is very old. Maybe I will update it soon. But if you look in the stickies there should be a thread that tells you how to make a pserver. A lot newer then my guide. Also there is cyberghoser1's guide. I think its called
"4 click eudemon server" Anyway, tons of guides around, just look.

Man my guide is very old. One of the first ones out I think after DragonPK's. lol Anyway that kinda irrelevant. Buuuuutttt my point is, you should try another guide. Try the 4 click server. There is also a good guide in a sticky called Necron's all things guide.

And to answer your question anywAY.
If you have used ALL MY files you shouldnt get that problem. Most of the time people get this error when trying to use db files and stuff. The client I recommend is very old.
