i am not sure , but maybe this post can help you a lot to figure out what checksum is used and to verifie a checksum

as it is a program/script to recreate a checksum

if it does what need to be done , then it can easy alter the ep with the checksum on it ( a fresh checksum) and then the game doesnt complain anymore
