[Guide]Making Server Non-Hamachi and Other things.

Ok. So I've seen many guides on Portforwarding and Etc, but they never said anything about Editing many of the things other people told me so I decided to make a guide .

Part 1: Ports.

First off lets start with portforwarding your ports depending on what router you are using it will be different for everyone so go on :



And find out which router you are and follow the guide, Ill show you with my router if you want me to show you with another router just leave me a msg or something.

Go to your Router page for some it might ask you for your User and Pass it may cary for alot of people but for me it doesn't ask, again Leave me a msg if you cant seem to get your password right ill try to help.



For me I would click Application Support.



Then Enable Application Support.



Add a New User-Defined Application.



Then Add all the Ports.



Ok so now were done with Ports.

Part 2: Making a Host.

Now to make a Or website.

Which every you Prefere In this guide ill use DynDns.

Go to the Site and Create a New account.



Then Click Services.



Click Dynamic DNS.



Click Dynamic DNS Free.



Click Get Started.



Now make a Host Name. Where is says PlaceServerName change that to what your server is EX: Chaos-Online.servegame.org. Then Change the Place Your Ip Here to your IP it would usually tell you it under so just copy it there.



Now Click Game Server Well thats what I did then click Add to Cart.



Now Click Next.



And Finally Activate Services.



Ok so now were done with the site lets move on, When you finished it you can go to your appache or what you use and go to the www folder, and edit the config.php. Where it says Website Name use the one you just made from DynDns Ex. Chaos-Online.servegame.org

Part 3: Network Connections.

Now go to Start>Contol Panel>Network and Internet.



Now Depending on what computer your using for me im using Windows 7, I click on network sharing for Windows xp try to find your network connections ex Local Area Connection/Wireless Connection.



Now go to the Adapter Settings.



You need to have a Local Area Connection as you see I dont have one which limites me on having my server Non-Hamachi. Anyway Right click and click Properties.



Double Click Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) It might be different for you so just click the one closest to myn.



Ok Now for this part your IP address will be different and so will your Prefered DNS and Default Gateway you can get all your information from your Connection Details.



Click Advanced and when you do make sure it looks exactly as myn so add your external IP if you dont have it or it might be different sometimes so change it to the right one.

Finally were done, now if you run your server with your external IP people should be able to connect and your Acc Server,Msg Server, and Npc server should work I hope this guide helps you if it did just click thanks also if you need any help just post it here or send me a Msg THANKS AND ENJOY

Yes i know that but the other guides dont really show you about the adapter setting to confiure them.

Probably because it's not required for all configurations.

This guide seems a little rushed to me. You could have spent a lot more time on making your screenshots neater. Also, it's usually better to give generic instructions on something as varied as router configuration. Even like things in step 2 it feels like you spent more time getting the user to the "get started" page then the time you needed to actually get him through the registration.

Last thing I would suggest putting your images in spoiler tags since they take up so much space. If someone wants to go through the whole guide they can click on which spoilers they need and if someone wants to just get to one point they can find what they need quickly.

Just my two cents.

Yes I know that ill start fixing them up now and edit the post with neater pics, and instructions I just put this up so i can give people a general guide on how to fix the problems they might be facing.
