Avatar Creation
What is Avatar Tactics?
Avatar Tactics is a 2D single player "MOBA" autobattler with management and RTS elements and a strong focus on customization.
Our development team consists of 2 programmers and a 2D artist and a first test version is targeted for the end of the year. That's why I'm creating this topic here, because we are looking for people who would be interested to participate in the playtesting and give constructive feedback when the time comes.
A private message and a comment in this thread is enough to get the invitation for Reddit/Discord.
I would also like to say a few words about the setting:
Avatar Tactics can be thought of as a MOBA that you can only play in single player. Instead of actively controlling a character, you are the one who creates these avatars, which is an important feature in Avatar Tactics. From the equipment, which is also visually represented, to the weapons and abilities, the player can assemble his avatars the way he wants.
Part of the game loop is that you can distribute attribute points when creating avatars, while you can unlock equipment with gold, which then also gives certain attribute points (STR,VIT,AGI,INT). Weapons require certain minimum values for the attributes. Available abilities are different per weapon and the selection also depends on attributes.
What is the actual Gameplay?
In our first game mode, the 1-Lane mode which is inspired by the ARAM mode from League of Legends, you can take up to 5 avatars into battle. You can control the behavior of the avatars via sliders, for example you could increase the "aggressiveness" so that avatar X sees attacking enemies as the highest priority.
But that's not all, otherwise it would be boring! Like in known MOBA games, the avatars get gold ingame and can buy items in the store. For all these things, there are quality of life features like you can save builds and the avatars buy everything automatically. This brings another factor into the game to counter the enemy avatars and improve your own.
In addition, the skills are also leveled, because in the game you level up as you know it from MOBAs.
Because all of this is not enough, there are construction sites for buildings in both bases, which all serve their own purpose, for example, there is a building through which upgrades for the Minions can be purchased. Another building allows you to unlock new Minion types. While another provides upgrades for towers.
This is to add a management/strategy aspect to the whole thing.
These will also be the primary things to be tested by you in the trial version!
