Working item duplication

Steps to dupe.. price is a thank you in comments.

 Spoiler

1. Prepare a chest with the same number of slots as you plan to dupe, but with 1 of that item in the slots (for a full ornithopter, that's 10 slots of 1 item)
2. Deposit all the items you wish to dupe into the ornithopter, Exit the inventory.
3. Exit to menu and wait 30 seconds then go back in game
4. Open the ornithopter's inventory
5. Use take all on the empty ornithopter. (These are the duped, but ghost items)
6. Quick deposit those items into the chest we prepared in step 1.
7. Store and replace your ornithopter
8. Open the ornithopter's inventory
9. Use take all on the full ornithopter.
10. Quick deposit those items into the chest we prepared in step 1.
11. Items are now duped.

Alternative steps for non-stacked items.. like armor/weapons
(Must have room to equip the item you're duping..)
1. Deposit your 1 item into the ornithopter
3. Exit to menu and wait 30 seconds then go back in game
4. Open the ornithopter's inventory
5. Use take all on the empty ornithopter.
6. Kill yourself (I usually use fall damage)
7. Respawn
8. Store and replace your ornithopter
9. Items are now duped.. 1 equipped, the other in the ornithopter.

It might be required to visit the world map atleast once per game restart.

This will dupe most any items.. It's likely to be patched soon.

I haven't tested all the items that can be duped using it.. but it for sure works on anything that can be stacked.

So once i log back into the game, the items are still in the ornithropter. Am i missing a step?

it's been reported you need to take a trip to the world map atleast once per game restart and make sure you wait the full 30s.

I can confirm it's still working.

Is the amount you can dupe at once limited by your inventory volume? If not is there a limit you've found?

I did not find a limit outside of the ornithopters limit.. I was able to do multiple pickup and drops of invisible items to dupe them.

There's a clip on YouTube of someone doing a very similar version if my instructions didn't work.

Unfortunately not that I know of.. but the second version can dupe individual items, so you could make it then dupe it.

1 ornithopters is needed, what were doing is using a new bug they introduced in a recent update that causes anything you put inside your vehicle just before logging out to become invisible/ghosted, you only know they exist because the game says you picked up x amount of items, even though you don't see them in your inventory or storage

The steps were doing to undo the ghosted state and make them real is to merge them with a stack of similar items, then we pack up and replace the same ornithopters in order to fix dune's bug.. But the ghosted items have already been converted into real items so we get to keep them.
