you can dowload diablo2 from the blizzard but you have to agree that they may check your messages.
I use the D2nt moded bot

I think he means that he downloaded Diablo from blizzard.com
That means it could be that Blizzard easily notices he is using a bot.
But i don't think so. Blizzard had to insert a trojan or so into the download to notic...
Otherwise it should be save to use nt-bot...

In general there is no "blizzard version" of Diablo since the game was made by Blizzard...that means there shouldn't be any differences between the version you downloaded and that you can buy in the mall
