hacking and duration are 2 different things.
There are a few ways to make it last longer:
1. add more damage lines (note the visible effect wont change until you edit the modeleffect)
2. increase the effectscene duration.
3. (since curse field is a remote) increase the lifetime of the remote & or add a shorter tick timer (=more hits).
but editing this stuff wont produce a hack-like effect for you unless the server is loaded with the same files.
