no the hosts file is for setting up routes. so if you route for example:
acclaim.com microsoft.com
if you try to call microsoft.com you will get to the acclaim site.
so in our situation we route the gameguard download url to our local webserver. it just download it once and while each gamestart it compares the gameguard version with the local webserver (gameguard serverfiles).

Edited: I still don't understand how can I make the vac work:/ if anyone could help me make One of my own in DETAILS or something please PM ME. thanks

ok im not liking this lol. 1st thing i followed step for step for step for step. problem im having is everytime i start the bmr it dls the normal gg i need to know how its to bypass this.
2nd i was never getting updates for new patchs before bmr so i deleted my host file. i than got 1 back from my lab top in text format. now my question is how do i dg my gg with all this u can post here or pm me i dont care. i need this to finish my dam hack for this patch 3.0.3 ty for anyone who can help.
i have my host file set up with the 127.0.0.1
gg deleted in bin folder
i have abyss running i have made my files in the htdoc folder gg\2moons/realsearver with the version 1059 in said of it and still not working little help ty.

the path must be "htdocs\GameGuard\2Moons\RealServer" or it doesnt work.
what happens if you enter "ping nprotect.acclaimdownloads.com" in the command prompt?
should be like this ip after that:

hi cosmos, thx for all ur patience. my GG appears downgraded to rev 1059 successfully n i modified the data.pak with winhex using the scripts (ex: crevice.whs). I log in into the game but when i go to choice the server n connect appear "Invalid client, please reinstall the game". Do u know what it could be? I think u downgrade was perfect but i cant imagine what could be wrong with my configuration? thx for all the support

btw when i enter "ping nprotect.acclaimdownloads.com" in the command prompt its opens a dos windows n before i could read anything the window automatically closes. It could be this the problem? thx

that's from the new 3.03 patch downgrading gameguard isnt the only thing you have to do to bypass it.

Is there more to do to bypass ivaild clint throug game gaurd?

I downgrade my GG to rev1059 successfully and it's working too.
but i dont know why this is.
can u tell me why this is ?
and how i can use my vac hack after new patch.
I m getting "Invalid Client " error. and i saw many persons still vaccing in 2 moons.
i read "Invalid Client" post too and i tried to change something but i fail.
plz tell me how i can use vac again ? (step by step)

make sure you have to bring back to normal all changes of your data.pak and then play the game normally with no bypasss....and then exit...then edit data.pak and run the game again with bypass...and you can do the vac now

But I did some thing wrong..or I don't know..I got GG error...after I tryed to downgrade it...
I did every thing step by step..
I found something that confused me..whenI went to C:windows/system32/drivers/etc.
I "Host" file...there was already a line..that I had to write...that confused me a lot...
so I did'n know what to do..after that I had problem with GG..after that I spend 1-1/2 hours to solve it...=(((
so I'm still trying to do Bypass...

Firstly Thanks lowa for good informations. My gg downgrade rev1059 working successfully with clean data.pak file.
Now i will edit my data.pak file again. but i dont have bypass . if u have then can u attch bypass or can u send me link .

da ich als iOS 4.0 raus kam mein IPhone 3GS auf iOS 4.0 upgegraded hatte und der Jailbreak nicht richtig hinhaute (funktioniert nun übrigens) wollte ich wieder zurück zur Firmware 3.1.2 - dies gestaltete sich allerdings schwierig.

Simple way to downgrade to 1.0, NO REPAIR NEEDED
Go to your World of Warcraft Directory
Goto The Data Folder (C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\Data)
Delete These Files: patch.mpq, patch-2.mpq, patch-3.mpq (If patch 2 or 3 arent there, thats fine)
Place the attachment in your WoW directory
Replace the new WoW.exe with your old one. (BUT FIRST MAKE A COPY OF UR OLD ONE)
Your WoW should now be at 1.0.
Geh in dein WoW Verzeichniss
Öffne den Data Ordner (C:\Program Files\World of...

and you can hack again.

So basically we can use the usa folder, but wasnt the usa folder out before BMR? or does it matter? Those hacks were severally out of date so we can use them now?

Well I downloaded cocas bypass and I noticed he said it works with WPEcoca, where might I find this? I tried pming but I think he doesn't accept them. I used the search function and theres no results. Google has no results. Cocas site (gamers-tools) I tried but its down. Does anyone have this program? or is this private? Thanks.
