[Release] DarkOrbit Server Emulator: offline server for the Unity client 1.1.115
DarkOrbit Server Emulator
Offline, single-player server for the original DarkOrbit Unity client (1.1.115), with a desktop management panel.
Open source (MIT), written in Python. English and Turkish.
What it is
It runs a local server on your computer and starts the original client against it. You play alone and offline: the client never connects to the official servers and its files are never modified. A panel starts the game and handles your saves, game settings and events.
Features
Full account interface: missions, Season Pass, Command Center, with progress saved locally
Aliens on every map, lasers, rockets, launchers, mines, ship abilities, bonus and cargo boxes, mining and refining, portals
Shop, hangar, ships and designs, drones and formations, P.E.T., boosters. Items sold for real money on the official servers cost uridium
Galaxy Gates (Kronos included), event gates, Voyagers' Ascent, Trinity Trials, Astral Ascension, Deep Space Echoes, Eternal Black Light
Assembly, Dispatch, Skylab, Uridium Bank, Synthesis, N.O.V.A., Armory, Quantum Fluid Core, pilot skills, achievements and titles, ranks, Battle Pass
Yearly and weekly events follow the real calendar and can be switched on or off. The 1.1.115 content (Kristallon Apotheosis, Recall Battle Pass) is included
Chat, mail, clans and the auction (with optional virtual rivals)
Management panel
First-run setup wizard: finds the game, or downloads the official client from Bigpoint's download server (about 3.5 GB, resumable)
Several save slots: create, copy, export/import (.zip), edit (credits, uridium, give items, repair), automatic and manual backups
Game settings: damage, rewards, drop chances, alien and box counts, prices, cooldowns and more, with presets (Relaxed, Fast progress, Hard, Creative) and your own templates. Most apply while you play
Optional in-game GM console: teleport, spawn aliens and boxes, give items, finish missions
Updates itself from GitHub (ZIP or git)
Play with friends
One player hosts, the others join with their own saves. Company, battle and Blacklight maps are shared: you see each other, and aliens, boxes and ores are shared. Chat is shared. Gates, modes and event maps are each player's own copy. There's no PvP. Hosting needs TCP 8081 (game) and 7771 (chat); Radmin VPN, ZeroTier or Tailscale also work.
Technical details
Python 3.10+, no third-party packages needed to play
Web server (login, client API and CDN; ports 80 and 8090), game server (TCP 8081), chat server (TCP 7771)
The 1.1.115 protocol is taken from the client's own code. For a newer client the panel warns you and can rebuild the protocol from the new client's IL2CPP code (Client page, needs capstone)
Game images aren't in the repository: the server fetches each one from the official CDN the first time the game shows it and keeps it locally
Installation
Install Python 3.10+ (Windows 10/11)
Download the repository (Code > Download ZIP) and extract it, or clone it
Double-click DarkOrbit Panel.pyw and follow the setup wizard
Press PLAY, then START on the client's login screen
Known limitations
No bot players yet: missions that need other players don't progress
Windows only
Download

DarkOrbit - Offline version in Unity 08/03/2020 - DarkOrbit - 4 Replies Hi, I decided to create an offline version of DarkOrbit with a friend. It would be a game played by a few friends (about 20-30). I would eventually program the whole game myself, but I would use the graphics directly from BP. Is there a chance that I could be fined or prosecuted for using BP graphics? The game would not be earned and would only be offline on the Unity engine. Thanks
