False. Intel has faster threads and cores than AMD. AMD is way better for those office things than Intel, yet I haven't seen any proofs about equal processors between AMD and Intel, which AMD has won on gaming performance.
AMD has more cores, which are weaker than Intel's less cores. At the same clock frequency, Intel has always won. No exceptions.
For price, yes. AMD wins as they compete with Intel's low processors.
EDIT: Personally, I consider AMD parts only if I want to warm my room.
