My opinion about this its simple. People will not change and will keep ddosing private servers 4ever. This happens since the first one was released and will happen 4ever. What can you do aganist this? Two options, anything or waste money on a decent ddos protection. But, why to waste money on something that BP can close easily? So if i were you i will take first option, do nothing. If these people does not want the best private server which are online nowadays then they will not have it. Close it for a while and open it again after some days, if they ddos you again just close it 4ever and fuc* them.

This is very sad but its what they deserve

Distributed denial of service (DDOS) attacks has always been an issue when it comes to private servers. And only a handful of servers/server operators, has the liberty to actually get some countermeasures in place. But this should not be the norm, if you want to host something that you have build with your own bare hands, then you should not become a victim for something that in my part of the world is considered a crime (Source: NC3 DK).

If "you" as a player, doesn't like a server or don't like an operator/mod, then why choose to ruin it for everyone else. It makes you (the player) a lowlife scumbag and in some parts of the world a criminal (not a joke).


If you feel the need attack people with something that is others properties even if it's online(IPO), what will your action lead to.

Here's an example from the real world, some time ago a group of people bought access to a service that would allow them to deny people access to certain services online. They performed this kind of attack and it went really bad.

How bad you might ask?

So bad, that ended up with 70-80 users of a particular forum getting chased down by British intelligence and other agencies to get punished for either their crime or something similar, even though most of them had nothing to do with the attack. Till this day some of them is still behind bars.

Any how ArDii I understand the issue, and if I where hosting a private server at the moment, then I would never allow anyone that wasn't verified in some way to access my game site, nor server and even then not let them figure out the public ip of the system.
In the end blocking ip's in bulks and collective restrict access to parts of the world might be the only real solution.

It is free server with no ads / buyable things. For that he would need a static ip as he host the server on his pc and pay for the anti-ddos, so it is a bit difficult

He should just add donations as before when he got tons of money, move to a big company, use cloadflare etc. easy and fast. never down.

If you want to host a private server (probably to gain money, as no server hoster probably knows how to actually code), then you should atleast be able to spend about 20€ a month on a simple VPS. That kind of server software doesn't need a 2xXeon Setup with 128 GB of RAM.

If not, then learn to code and optimize the server.

Yes, the problem is that the creator of the post do not put ads/buyable things because his aim is not to earn money. Thats why he hosts the server on his own PC as he also dont want to spend money on it. But the purpose of this thread is not to "search" a good vps or ddos protection. The purpose its just a "Why the hell people want to ddos a free private server, which is the sense of it", we all know the solution for solve the problem, but this thread is just for "hey guys, stop ddosing because it has no sense", thats all

Tons of money ? wtf i did not even get more than 15 euros i got one 100 euros donation but it was a fake xDD tons of money maybe from the old OU was hosted by Hugo , but just Hugo know how much it got xD

I apreciate it , server is optimized , but the only problem is ddos i just wanted to make people know what sk8 said* , just that i am not arguing about ddos my server i am arguing about "why we are fighting eachothers" it makes no sense we all started making it for fun not to get money or just we love to see a "GOOD VIEW" of DO.
