PET protocols and gear

So i was wondering about this.
My pet is like lvl 4 now so i can buy lvl 2 protocols and lvl 2 gears.
Is is worth it?To buy lvl2 things?Because to get to the 8th lvl of PET i need like 80 000 000 EP and with my gear (10lf3,10 bo2 and 2 irises) it would take me "some" time.
So to speed up my uri gained by botting i want to buy some salvage and radar protocols.
And i think it's worth it because :
AI-R2 increases your radar range by 6% - 7500 uri
AI-R3 increases your radar range by 12% -25 000 uri

AI-S1 increases the reward from boxes collected via your P.E.T. by 2% -7500 uri
AI-S3 increases the reward from boxes collected via your P.E.T. by 3% -45 000 uri

It seems that i would benefit from buying lvl 2 things.Because the difference in cost is so insane.Like for one percent i would pay 37k more,thats just insane.

What level are you? With doing quests you can get very quickly 80 million EP.

Finished lvl 12 few days ago to collect at 1-8.Now i am @16kk EP.
