I actually didn't understand you.
But why do you want to edit the .exe, if you can edit the source, which is open for all?

Okay...Now for you again. If you edit the source, you need to compile it.
If you are in the project (opening the sln with visual studio), press F5 and the .exe should execute itself.
Probably, you'll get the error, that you can't connect to the database.
No problem. Go to the debug folder and edit the app.ini

As I said. MySQL Database.
Please start mysql and edit the app.ini in the debug folder of the project.
Project/projectname/bin/Debug
