The VT is fake but the real has 0/46, if it does not have some kind of malware he would of not put a fake VT.

They do, but a version checker is always faster and easier than starting the program and waiting a few seconds to see if it will request the update.

Edit: This uses the httprequest method which is the best in all cases.
On the other hand, it's not a stelaer
