I demand a confetti cannon for my party...
Scratch that, make it my present. My life ALWAYS needs a confetti cannon
Restarted now.
So oppinions..
I dunno how much more work I really wanna put into the new proxy seeing as I'm gonna be starting exams soon.
How would you guys feel about me releasing a proxy
BASE. It would contain a fairly well layed out system for setting up encryption, handling threading, database and packet handling/queuing but no actual botting functionality.
Would that be something that would actually be useful or would it just bring chaos (IE: hundreds of half assed proxies starting up all over the place and tq in turn changing encryption/fixing exploits)
Personally I've always seen it as something the community doesn't really need but I'm considering it for the following reasons...
#1: It would maybe teach a few people some coding vs just going "OMG I WANT BOT"
#2: It might then make people familiar with coding and realize official servers suck and boost the pserver community (where my interests mainly lie)
#3: It might cause tq to actually fix some major holes in their security and perhaps wipe out some proxies (helps me both in that if I then decided to work on a new proxy there would be less competition AND it would drive players into the pserver community assuming I was then working on my pserver source again)
#4: It might reduce some of the wining that goes around the forum.... or at least shift its focus from "OMG I NEED BOT" to "OMG WHAT PROGRAM I NEED TO MAKE SOURCE BETTER?!" (hell... look at pservers, seems half the people ask where to get C# from lol..)
Just a consideration really..
Obviously I'd be stripping out any of the 'protected' information from my proxy including.
-Speed hack
-Shift packet (info is super public but still... not going to include any actual exploits if I were to release it)
-Password decryption (that's the other concern.. me monitoring the usage is different from 500 random noobs trying to steal your information through their proxy)
+ some other stuff..
